HEY DU! There Is A ZAMBONI Up For Auction!! Who Is IN??
that would be COOL! :bounce:

<snip>

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Who wants to buy a Zamboni? The city of Brooklyn Park is about to find out.

A 20-year-old ice resurfacer is among the more eye-catching items on the block this Saturday at a government-sponsored auction in Arden Hills, where state and local officials will try to unload surplus or confiscated equipment.

There are dozens of cars and trucks -- including a 2003 Hummer H2 with barely any miles that was seized by the Minnesota Gang Strike Force. Stereos, computers and heavy-duty tools round out a list of more than 200 items up for sale.

Brooklyn Park is letting go of the green-and-blue Zamboni because the suburb has two others to use at its hockey rinks.

1. Yes! An official DU Zamboni!
We'll try to get it into the Olympics and say "Ha! You don't see so-called patriotic republicans offering a group-owned Zamboni to help our patrioitic boys in the hockey team!"

2. Oh, HELL YEAH!!!!
I'd LOVE to drive that around town with banners for all the Democratic candidates draped across it! It would get some damned attention! :D

I think we should get the Hummer too. Put banners about how King George allows tax breaks for businesses that purchase them. Let's use their penis-envy machine against them. :P

10. Would people still throw money at that?
I'd imagine some other object being catapulted by the crowd. More of the 'vegetable' variety than precious metals.

23. Back in the old days

We used to rent a rink out late at night for hockey (my brother was the manager of the rink). We were responsible for resurfacing afterwards, so one of us would Zamboni the surface when the game was over. Well, one night the infamous defenseman "Iron Man" headed straight out of the rink on the Zamboni, laughing his horrific Herman Munster laugh (HA, HA, HA) as he headed for Sherman Avenue!!!

Thankfully we caught him and redirected the Zamboni before it started resufacing asphalt!

Damn, I'd STILL be paying for a new one if that ever happened.
