FL Dept. of Transportation...YOU SUCK! |
|
If you have the misfortune of driving Atlantic Ave. in southern Palm Beach KKKounty, FloriDUH, be ready to waste time and gas if you a travelling westbound, just west of the Turnpike. (I REFUSE to call it "The Ronald Raygun Turnpike" how stupid is that.) Why on EARTH do these morons insist on doing road work DURING RUSH HOUR??? I could understand if it was something dire, like say, a sink hole. Well, you guessed it, IT WASN'T. This is a two lane road (two on each side) and they got it narrowed down to one lane. Why you ask? Because the turn lane 3/4ths of a mile later was messed up. This is rediculous. There was no reason whatsoever to have the left lane closed. So, feel free to contact the FloriDUH DOT and tell them to get a clue: (850) 414-4100 or Toll Free at 866-374-FDOT (3368); fdot.pio@dot.state.fl.us (general email addie); barbara.kelleher@dot.state.fl.us (Palm Beach district's email)
Lu Cifer, thanking FloriDUH for NOT having any public transportation worth 2 shmits and a funk

2. I know it's frustrating but... |

DOTs have to strike a balance between keeping all the lanes open and getting a project done quickly and inexpensively. Also, there are probably safety guidelines that require a lane be closed a certain distance before the actual construction.

3. Quickly and inexpensively? |

You must be kidding, especially about the "quickly" part. Last week, drove north on I-95 past PBIA and it looks no different than it did four months ago. In the whole area of construction, there was not ONE SINGLE person in sight. They were not even working the site. There is a section of bridge suspended over the highway that looks like it will fall down on you at any time when you drive under it. What they do, I've figured out, is do a little work on one road, then move to another location, do a little there, and so forth, instead of just completing the project they are working on. Working this way they can manage to keep every major highway under construction for years. I think it is on purpose just to waste time, create traffic problems, and cause commuter distress, and I can't see where it can save any money.

They take YEARS to complete simple tasks that even my own shit could do. I guess there's no profit in doing stuff EFFICENTLY. I see that crap all the time. Lanes blocked off, NO ONE IS THERE! What the hell? Are ghosts doing constuction work? I-95's widening to four lanes (something they SHOULD have done EONS ago) has been going on since what, 1999!??!?! If they pulled this crap in other states, you'd see riots.

6. I resent like hell anything being named after Raygun. |
|
Damn "B" grade actor. That was his highest achievement on this planet. It's kind of embarrasing to know a billion dollar (or whatever) aircraft carrier is named after someone who doesn't even know his own name.
