Poll question: Which Gas Station Do You Normally Fill-Up At?
I'm a Hess man, personally. They're usually 5-6 cents cheaper than the others.

You?

3. bananas?
At a gas station?

That's about as absurd as the fried chicken place in Brooklyn that also doubles as a gas station.

Edited on Tue Nov-04-03 10:07 AM by GOPisEvil
They're a Texas-based company, and I have had one of their credit cards for years. I also have a Chevron card, but I don't fill up there as much because their prices are too high.

6. You'll find that regional issues will...
...make this complicated. BP/Amoco's are common here in the Southeast. Shells have been popping up like wildfire since * was selected. I avoid them out of suspicion.

25. I avoid them out of prudence.
Everytime I put Shell in my car something goes wrong with the inner works. Whether it's a clogged filter or a sudden, temporary thirst for 30-weight.

Then, there's local fringe businesses like SuperPumper and Simonson.

7. Speedway!
They're not bad, although their premium is kinda lame. I also use BP sometimes, if their price is lower (which it usually is).

I like their set-up and I enjoy their coffee. I find that they are usually priced lower than most others. (In my area anyway)

13. Sinclair (Canadian) or Citgo (Venezuelan)
I'm just not crazy about those terrorist-supporting ME oil companies.

(I know both of these companies have to supplement their supplies with ME oil from time to time, but on the whole I think they're the best option)

14. NONE!
I was going to say that I've never purchased any gas in my life, but that's not true, I've pitched in for gas money on road trips. But I have never owned a car and I don't even know how to pump gas.

But only because it's the closest one to my house. However, I also get Pilot gas over in NJ since it's cheaper and they pump it for you.

Or any other cheapo stations.

I would like one eon to NOT have to drive. But the FloriDUH DOT can't do crap right. Palm Beach County, 1.1 MILLION PEOPLE...and the bus system BLOWS. Don't even start me (again!) on the roadways.

24. There are no Hess or Gulf stations in the PNW, and Texaco
was bought out by Shell some time ago. There are very, very few Texaco stations which are remaining in operation under the Texaco brand. I suspect in the coming months, they'll be converted to Shell, too.

27. It's Esso up here
They've got a good points system and the gas is trustworthy.

If it gets really cold, I'll switch to Petrocan 'cause they put methanol in.

That should be "At which gas station do you normally fill up?", since you shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition.

Oh wait. Crap! Look out! Irony police!! :spank:

I always wondered why Costco didn't sell cars.

But I never knew they sold gas...which Costco do you go to. The one's in New York don't sell gas.

34. Costcos in California do
They also do tires, tuneups, and a few other auto repairs. I just buy gas though...I filled up yesterday at Costco at $1.54 a gallon, when everywhere else is $1.65 to $1.69 a gallon.

Of course, the fact that I literally live 150 yards from the Costco and its the closest gas station to my home helps to (I never shop inside, and maintain my membership only to get access to their gas pumps :))

42. Swifty
Kind of a no-name station in my area. Cheaper than the rest, busy enough to be refilled daily (sometimes twice) and the gas is the same that Marathon, Kroger's and several other chains in the area use (worked a job near the gas terminal once.)
