If Men Had Vaginas and Women Had Penises.... |
|
How would the world be different? And for that matter, how would sex be different?
Does the sheer physical fact that a man has to insert himself INTO a woman to have sex make the male dominant?
If the shoe was on the other foot and men were the sexual - uh - receivers, so-to-speak, how do you think they would regard sex differently?

as a man you are perfectly capable of being on the "receiving" end. If you really want to know what it's like go find a willing partner and find out. ;-)

If I had a vagina, I'd never leave my room.
I don't think the physical act makes any sex dominant per se, I think it had tons more to do with the fact that we are just bigger, sometimes much bigger.

6. I think it has to do more with aggressive hormones |
|
As far as how sex would be different... male sex drive + multiple orgasms would probably be bad. (I'll probably get flogged for saying that... heh)

9. There would be babies, babies galore |
|
Men can't say no, and if women were the pursuers (generally) of sex and men were the pursuers, then humanity would fall into an endless orgy.
On the other hand, workplace productivity would plummet and companies would have to hire more people to keep boosting GDP.
My high school girlfriend used to tell me: "when we go on a date, you're always wondering if you're going to get to have sex. I already know".

Women play on men is convincing them that Men want sex more than they do.
Ironically, the biggest hoax men play on women is the exact same thing.

Menstrual cramps are no fun---and neither is the sight of blood exiting your uterus on a daily basis for seven days.

13. The answer to that question is in evolution. |
|
May I suggest two books: The Selfish Gene Non-Zero: The Logic of Human Destiny
Once you understand how evolution works, then that question become extremely obvious. You are asking why are males dominate. They aren't in all species, but are in humans. Evolution has shaped humans that way.
Consider when humans were tribal and hunter-gatherers. The only politics was simple survival. Women, after puberty, quickly became pregnant, and were busy with child rearing duties. They were limited in their mobility by the demands of motherhood. The men had to do the work that required more travel, like hunting. The men fought over the women too. Winner gets to make her pregnant, thereby passing on his genes into the next generation. Women, by being smaller, but not too small, were able to live on less food.
So the one who contributes the least to the new baby gets to be the biggest. With being biggest comes dominance.

14. well, she's right. I would not do well with ... |

...menstruation. I would surely hate that...everything about it, I'm afraid. (I could not be one of these earth mothers that celebrates menstrual blood, especially.) Plus....oh, never mind. the point is made. I think I'll move on now. (No, I am not an inhibited, hypocritical typical male, dammit!)

15. Well, if you had no choice and women have no choice, |
|
maybe celebrating something unpleasant that women go through is trying to make lemonade out of lemons. I have to agree that it's still an unpleasant part of being a woman though and no celebration will convince me to be happy about it.

20. There's an old joke about what would happen if husbands and |
|
wives took turns having children. If wives always had the first baby, husbands the second, wives the third, etc., there would be no families with more than three children. . .
For that matter, I'd wager that a lot of families would stop after the first child.
If all the men in the U.S. woke up tomorrow with vaginas, six weeks from now the Congress would be unanimously passing legislation requiring employers to guarantee five or more days of "menstrual leave" every month. Their male constituents would be demanding it and male employers wouldn't fight this measure. Next, male students would be demanding "menstrual leave" from classes. Male athletes would also want menstrual leave, which would play hell with scheduling any sort of sports competitions. Within four to six months, there would be new demands for "paternity leaves" to begin once a man had a positive pregnancy test and last for 6-12 months after the baby was born.
Female athletes would keep on keeping on, as would female students and women everywhere. Women would take over the power positions in business, industry, politics, and every other sphere because the men would be missing so many work days. The few men who were able to work as usual during their periods and/or pregnancies would be regarded as un-natural.
Yes, I'm exaggerating, but I don't think most men realize what a cushy deal they have, biologically speaking. Try to imagine yourself having to deal with cramps and bleeding one out of every four weeks and then ask yourself why we're called the weaker sex!
N. B., I don't resent men, I just think women should be appreciated more for their strength.

21. If men had a MENstrual cycle then work rules |
|
would be written to allow for one week off each month WITH PAY. There is NO WAY a man would put up with the discomfort and possible embarassment that comes with your period.
Let's not even talk about giving BIRTH. The so called debate around maternity leave would be settled...because a man's time is obviously much more valuable than that of a woman, maternity leave would be PAID and last until the child was COMPLETELY potty trained. Either that or else there would be a government funded program to allow for live in nannies for all (except poor people of course because it would be poor women who would be the nannies).
/sarcasm off.

Mines nice and tucked away. Kick me between the legs and I'll be pissed, but I wont be rolling on the floor for minutes. The only thing a penis can do that I find cooler than my vagina is that whole writing words in piss in the snow.

30. It is not the physical structures as much as the hormonal ...if men had |
|
vaginas...and all the hormones that go along with it...they would be women and visa versa. NO DIFFERENCE!!!...I guess it would just be that men would be called women...and would be treated as all women have been throughout history..a.nd women would be called men and want to be all powerful...it is not so much the physical aspects as the hormonal???

31. I don't know about the rest of women, but I love being a woman.... |
|
I like the fact I can have multiple orgasms (probably my favorite part). I liked breastfeeding my children. For me anyway, periods really aren't a big deal. The only thing I didn't like was childbirth (several DAYS of labor under my belt and all c-sections).
There are drawbacks for sure. I think you have to make more sacrifices in life compared to men if you want children. Your risks for being victimized are greater. You have to worry about bozos in the Supreme Court potentially deciding the fate of your life and body rather than yourself and your doctor.
I don't think the act of sex itself makes a man dominant. I think some men want to believe that, but I think in relationships, women hold a lot more of the cards in sex than men do.
