he had a great song about his father when he was growing up in the south. i remember the words "and he never ate his young" at the end of one line. other than the fact it was a hilarious song, that's all i remember. i don't think he ever recorded it.

....and i'm glad he's been getting national exposure for some time now. back in the 80s he was a local act in chicago, mainly performing at coffee houses and taverns. he was somehow connected to the old town school of folk music, but like so many from that school his music transcends folk music.
