13. Kerry, Sharpton, Edwards grasping at straws
They are trying to blow up an issue that is not there. We can not win without the south vote.

2. Personally, I think its very entertaining.
VERY entertaining! But c'mon, did you hear that last question? "Macs or PCs"--what the hell is the point of wasting time with a useless question like that?

So far, after about 20 minutes, everyones spoken except Kucinich and Clark. Lets get some action for these guys!

..and I hope they answer the question I emailed them (regarding the PNAC/AEI/neoconservatives). But its CNN so I doubt they'd even know what I'm referring to, let alone show it on TV!

5. Hey Matcom
Don't mean to hijack the thread but I remember a post of yours back when traitorgate was coming out about how you heard from the inside that the Bush admin is toast.

Is that still the case or are they waiting for Asscrack to mess up and get rid of him too?

I agree but could have lived without that image.....ugh
I didn't like Edwards' rant at Dean about how Dean's point that Southerners shouldn't vote against their own economic interests was condescending.

I didn't find it condescending at all, although I think it applies to dozens of my aquaintances in the North who are very middle class but still think W is their kinda guy and looking out for their economic interests.

I'd say Dean's remark is a wake-up call, not condescending. And I haven't "committed" to any of the Dem candidates yet, so this is a pretty unbiased response on my part.

6. This is so bad...
These videos are stupid. And Anderson Cooper is THE most uncool thing in the world. He wants to be Chris Matthews, NOT Carson Daly.

7. oh yeah...
that was a BIT MUCH.

it was probably a 'poor choice of words'

but INTENT matters and I see NO negative INTENT in Dean.

NB: I am an ABB person for now. have no axe to grind for or against any of the candidates (though L makes me a bit queasy)

induging in Dean bashing on a national stage in de facto DEM bashing and it is unseemly and an over negative.

uh........... let me toss out a word: BUSH ?????????????

8. um...if they don't debate HIM
There isn't a debate. Dean leads the first two states. He's the frontrunner, he's going to feel the heat.

Simple as that. And Sharpton DID make excellent points. Especially when he said that not all poor white folks have confederate flags on their pickup trucks.

And when Edwards said the last thing people in the South want is for YOU to come down here and tell them what to think.

That, was powerful.

It was also truthful.

And spot on correct.

Sorta. Fact is, for every one that has a flag on their truck there are 10 who think just like that but don't actually have the flag.

18. Sharpton of all people
should be able to grasp the idea of figurative speech. He's the king of it and why I like him.

I think he understands what Dean said, and he's chosen to be intellectually dishonest about it by taking him literally.

9. Dean needs this
I WANT all the candidates to pile on Dean. I want to know if he can handle it. I support him but have very high expectations of him, maybe higher than any candidate ever.

Our nominee MUST defeat George W. Bush. If Dean survives political attacks from the left and right of the Democratic party, he wins next November.

to my husband. I'm pulling for Clark, but like Dean and think attacking him is a BAD stategy. If he's the nominee how do they stand behind him after bashing him like this? The press bit Al Gore in the ass continously with Bill Bradley's words - we don't need that again.
