I am thinking about becoming a thief...
There is a political sign, about 4'X 8' in a nearby county that says my last name for sheriff. It is really cool! I really want it.

Elections are over tonight...so wouldn't I be doing a good deed if I went tomorrow and took the sign down for him?

;-)

1. Why don't you just ask him if you can have it?
He'll think he's a big ole rock star if someone wants one of his signs. :D

10. Then do it cautiously.
Like you said, the election's over. the signs will be taken down soon anyway. Try it late at night when there's no one around, watch your back, and do it like you own it already, i.e, with confidence. you should be fine. What can they do to you, hassle you for cleaning up the local landscape?

I put up about twenty Musgrove signs over the weekend...went back and all but four were gone.

Repubs suck. :-)

11. if you want it
take it - it has your last name, so if anyone questions what you're doing just tell 'em you're a relative and taking it down as is required post-election.

12. Under those circumstances, I'd take it.
He's required to take down the sign after a certain period of time. You'd be saving him the trouble.

13. Take It
It's of no value to the candidate. And it's of no value to the community. It's on public property. The only one who wants it is you.

15. You should never steal anything.
On the other hand, picking up litter is being a good citizen. :-)

16. Be careful about this
My step uncle was arrested as a teenager for pulling a prank with his classmates. His history teacher was rather political so they stole his political signs and exchanged them with the oppositions political signs. Luckily the teacher dropped the charges. I think that it was still a while before the election too. I think that there was a specific law about stealing political signs. This may have been a state law or even local ordinance. People in the part of Ohio I was raised take elections, especially local ones, very seriously and signs are a big part of it.

17. Take it
but make it fun. First start drinking with a group of your friends (one should stay sober to drive) then all of you should dress in black and sneak up to it like ninjas. That way when people ask you how you got it it will be a cooler story.
