1. So, uh, how do they, like, move, or something?
Do their owners just put newspaper under their butt and food and water in front of them every day and let them knock themselves out?

2. When left alone they are ordering carryout.
These culprits are the problem.

3. form of animal abuse
My sister raises dachshunds. The weiner dog needs to be squat but skinny since it was bred to chase burrowing critters out of the fields. These dogs, God bless 'em, aren't being allowed to live in a natural environment and thus (like, I'll bet, their American owners) end up obese, unhealthy, and suffering with a lot of back problems.

Their owners need to learn a little discipline and the dogs need a lot of exercise. Poor little SOBs...

5. Yup - a friend inherited her mother-in-law's Dalmation.
The mother-in-law has Alzheimer's and overfed the dog in a most amazing way. When I first saw the Dalmation, he looked like a balloon with four legs - and that was AFTER my friend had dieted a ton of weight off the dog.

Dog #2 - belonged to an acquaintance of mine who was just plain "ditzy." She constantly fed their mixed breed dog the leftover bacon drippings, with the anticipated result.
