The Concorde is coming to Seattle tomorrow... |
|
For you Concorde fans:
Arrival information:
Concorde is currently scheduled to arrive at Boeing Field in Seattle on November 5th. Landing is currently scheduled for approximately 3:00 p.m. Please note that this time is subject to change without notice due to a variety of factors beyond Museum control. Please note also that Concorde will be coming into Boeing Field, also known as King County International Airport, not Sea-Tac.
Immediately after landing, Concorde will taxi to the Museum Ramp for an acceptance ceremony. Access to a special viewing area at the Museum will be available for a $5 admission fee but will be complimentary with general Museum admission. (The $5 viewing area admission charge will be refundable against Musuem general admission on the 5th or on a return visit through December 31, 2003.) Admission to the viewing area only (not the Museum itself) will be through a special gate at the east end of S. 96th Place along the south side of the Museum. A second gate at that location will provide expedited entry to the viewing area by Museum members (for whom admission is free) and for those visitors who have already paid for general Museum admission and have current admission stickers. There will be no access to the Museum from the viewing area, or vice versa; general Museum admission must be purchased at the Admissions Desk, accessible only through the Museum's west entrance off East Marginal Way.
We anticipate that significant crowds will be attracted by Concorde's arrival, and so we advise those wishing to observe the landing from our special viewing area to arrive early. Entry is strictly first-come, first-served; there is no reserved viewing area for Museum members or others. The Museum's East and South Parking Lots will be closed to automobiles on November 5th. Parking will be available in several special event lots along the west side of East Marginal Way both to the north and south of the Museum; look for the "Museum Concorde Parking" signs. Parking in these marked lots will be free of charge, and free shuttles will be provided to the Museum from the more distant of these lots. Parking in lots not marked "Museum Concorde Parking" is not authorized by the Museum and is at the visitor's own risk.
More details on the arrival day schedule and arrangements will be announced as they are finalized.
