How long after a US election does the big ceremony take place? |
|
I've lost the original note but remember seeing a thread last week that was populated by :tinfoilhat: replies along the lines of
09-11-01 = WTC 10-12-02 = Bali 11-13-03 = ?
Just out of interest, is the inauguration of the winner of the 2004 election going to be anywhere near 12-14-04?

Thanks! I was just driving home last night and something on the radio triggered a tangential train of thought that left me with the question in .0

that while our election day has always been the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, originally the inauguration was March 4. That's because two hundred and some years ago it would take until January to know the election results for sure, and additional time was then needed to plan for any transition. In 1936, Franklin Roosevelt was the first President to be inaugurated on January 20.
