BLAH...I just saw the commercial for Lynch movie... |
|
I about spit up my coffee when I saw this...a seriously over dramatized commercial for the movie that's going to be on this Sunday.
Blah...I can't believe this move is actually going to be on...and it outrages me.
She was in a humvee accident...and taken...not to a place to be held captive...but taken to a hospital for treatment...how is that considered a POW...now those eleven soldiers that were actually taken hostage and videotaped...to me...those are real POW's...
Where's their movie...where's their book deals...Does the media even acknowledge that they exsist anymore or is it business as usual...
What about all the soldiers that have been killed in the un-needed war...where's the book deals and made for tv movies that explains their un-nunnecessary and un-timely deaths due to this administrations all out lies and deception...?
This makes me sick to know that some blonde haired blue eyed girl will make gazillions of dollars for being in a humvee accident and taken to a hospital when others were actually taken prisoner and held against their will(real POW's) or have died because of this stupid war...
I for one will NOT watch this movie :puke: and in no way shape or form will I ever read the book :puke:...I have better things to do with my time...
Am I wrong for feeling this way...?

2. now if anyone should object to a "docudrama" this one is it |
|
and I think Jessica deserves some of her blood money for being held hostage by the Pentagon all those weeks.

3. Lots of americans apparently believe |
|
that Lynch was repeatedly raped and tortured and was indeed a POW. I found a group of twenty-somethings in a fave pub and asked what they thought, which was pretty much the above, and asked them how they came to those conclusions. Though they believed she had been treated horribly, they had no idea why or where they came by this information.

to the truth. The legend is already out there, and Jessica's apparently content to have the legend disseminated. Now she's just riding the wave. Oh, and don't be like a freeper who hides his head in the sand everytime a piece of propaganda comes out. Watch it to analyze and understand propaganda, educate yourself to their ways.

Does anyone else find it strange that Lynch herself has not talked to the media or been interviewed by Barbara Walters, etc.? All we get is this "dramatic interpretation" of what supposedly happened to Lynch in Iraq? Will the miniseries dramatize the "heroic rescue" when American troops unnecessarily stormed the Iraqi hospital? Will it demonstrate how some Iraqi individual risked their lives trying to return Lynch to United States custody? Will it show that she was medically treated, cared for, and fed while in the Iraqi hospital? I'm guessing no....or we would hear more from Jessica herself.

9. Of course it's not strange...this is propaganda... |
|
And one of the primary complaints from the right wing extremists who put the screws to CBS re: the Raygun miniseries was that "nobody talked to the right people..." What rampant hypocrisy... I will not be watching this trash...and I have cancelled CBS from my satellite package.

I think ABC's Primetime Live did an interview w/ her this week (Dianne Sawyer). I didn't watch the interview. I don't know how "her" story can be told when she claims not to be able to remember what happened.

I have no hard feelings against Lynch, except I suspect she never had amnesia. But -- I am disgusted that Shoshana Johnson, the young and spirited black woman who actually was held captive and frightened out of her wits, has been basically pushed aside. Even her disability benefits from her war injuries were about $700 per month less than Lynch. Her father is suing on her behalf. I hope he wins.
I'm sure all the attention over Lynch has nothing to do with her being a pretty white girl. Yeah, right. Life imitates art, once again.
Edited to further explain the $700 per month disability benefit

8. Remember, NBC says this is the story |

that "gave a nation hope." What for, I have no idea.
<Gag> I've heard it's getting boring reviews. Competes with Sominex for effectiveness in preventing insomnia.

Putting down the troops is so dated. Don't watch if you don't want. I'm a liberal but its a Movie of the Week, come on...

13. I'm not putting down the troops... |
|
and I did serve my country in the first Bush war...and I have seen freinds suffer from the effects of that war.
All's I'm saying is that I think that many more soldiers deserve some if not more attention for what they have been through instead of some right wing propaganda movie, that half of the country doesn't even know if it's the truth or not...
Sorry but I just don't think this is something that should deserve a movie and a book deal.
I would much rather watch a movie about the 11 POW's who were actually held captive then I would one soldier that was pampered in a hospital bed.
I feel for the girl and all she went through but I think it's a bit over dramatized for my taste...
