Poll question: BBQ Chain Restaurants
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 09:29 PM by Mayberry Machiavelli
These are skewed towards Texas since that's where I'm living, and the first time I've really seen this kind of chain is out here.

16. Westland, Michigan also.
And I only knew because my wife signed up for one of those damn "secret shopper" things where they pay for your meal if you go in and critique the place.

I'm not sure if it's Westland, since all those suburbs blend together.

14. I like Rudy's kitsch factor, though.
There's something about a restaurant that has a "Cutter Cam.":D

Besides, if I want good barbecue, I drive to Goode Company.;)

17. Nuthin' worse than red hot and blue. Great name, but awful bbq
Hell, they didn't even know how to make it. Hired a consultant for $20,000 to teach them IN ONE DAY how to cook bbq. No wonder it sucks. Isn't that poor dead brain tumored lee atwater's place?

Get yerself a Weber Smokey Mountain and on your first cook you'll be making much better bbq than any of these chains, that's for sure!

But the pic has literally made my mouth water. :toast: to ribs. Now I have to go get a chicken burrito with black beans only...I am going to a pool party on Saturday and I have to make sure I can see my abs before I get there...at the pool party tho I am going to stuff my face. I'll pick up ribs at RibsUSA in Burbank and take them to the party. Thanx for giving me that idea.

28. Gotta go with Rudy's, the San-Antonio-based chain
I'm starving for it right now.

Their extra-lean brisket is actually more tasty than the regular kind. I think they must marinate the hell out of it.

29. Goode Company Barbecue!
There are 2 of them in Houston--does that qualify as a chain? Perhaps if we include the 2 Goode Texas Seafood restaurants & the Goode Company Taqueria & Hamburgers--famed for weekend breakfasts.
