Just got the Best of Bowie DVD

The guy really has a grasp of the video medium. I genuinely haven't seen better music videos than Heroes, China Girl and Blue Jean. After 1985 it's the scary Daryl Hall-lookalike years, but the post Jump They Say stuff is a real return to form. One scary game you can play is watch him spiral into coke hell from video to video. From clean-cut 25 year old in 1972, through Ziggy, to some sort of odd alien-pirate combo for Diamnod Dogs to Young Americans on the Dick Cavett Show, which could go in the dictionary for hopeless coke casualty. Still, he's a genius. If you ignore Labyrinth. And Dancing in the Streets with Mick Jagger.

I'm old enough to remember when MTV used to play vidoes. And when they showed Ashes to Ashes or Boys Keep Swingig or Fashion we'd stop what we were doing and watch.

BBC America had an All Bowie Weekend......concerts, interviews, career retrospective, etc.......it was fantastic .......
