3. Notice that the child's father is looking at the mother
Shame on her for letting him behave that way!

You'd think they'd know that the kid acts like that, and not put him out there like that. I have a child who can't stand still without being glued to the floor. I wouldn't expect him to stand there. Of course, you'd have to go up there without ANY kids, but so what?

He's just being normal! We all hope our kids act what we consider perfectly while in public, especially if they're on national TV, but it rarely happens!!! Mom did what she had to and took him in the back room.

No harm, no foul. Quit being such crab a**es!

31. A child his age should be trained to stand still for a few moments in
public. There is no excuse for a kid without mental problems standing still. My mom did it with four kids. This kid is an idiot. Reminds me of Guiliani's kid.

if you criticize, then you must be a know-it-all embarrassment to all liberals who hates kids and has no kids of your own and you don't know a "cute" outfit when you see one and you don't care about real issues and you're no better than a Freeper who was nasty to Chelsea and aren't you a big stinky stupid poopoo head!

Whew! Did I leave anything out? ;-)

48. Well, if you do have kids, you would know they don't like to
sit still or stay still.
Would you expect your cat to sit still when introduced to Bush?
Then why do you expect it from a kid?
He looks about 4. I doubt he understands what is going on.

50. I really don't think it was the kid that most objected to
after all, it's not the kid who is responsible for his behavior at that age-it's his parents. 9pm is too late for a photo op.

IMO-what captures attention there is the bizarre juxtapositions; the oddly anachronistic 1950's attire, combined with the very, er, "modern" behavior of the boy. Couple that with the subdued, almost sullen expressions of the mother and girl-sharp contrast to the boy's wild exuberance. One wonders what went on right BEFORE they walked out in front of the cameras, and what sort of family dynamics are taking place at home.

22. I question the judgement of anyone with such horribly antiquated taste
in clothes that they would dress a young boy in a baby blue 3-piece suit and SHORTS!!!!! with saddle oxfords!!!!!! I mean, how fucking 60's can you get? The little girl looks fine but the boy appears to have been plucked from an episode of "Leave it to Beaver"

And you others are right, at that age, all it took was a strong glance from my Dad and i would have straightened RIGHT UP.

As a college student, I work part time at a dollar store, where I see much worst behavior than this, trust me. By the time I leave the store, it is somewhat in bad shape, especially on the toy aisle. But this brat does need to be controlled.

36. So, we're picking on children now?
The little dude was bored and decided to amuse himself and now he's an out of control brat? Gimmie a break, some of you people need to seriously lighten up. He's a little kid for fuck's sake, leave him alone. Hate his father all you want but I would expect the sort of "I'd beat the tar out of the little bastard" comments from the other side.

It's unreasonable to expect a young child to behave like an honor guard member at that late an hour.

Besides, if this was supposed to be a serious and dignified ceremony, what the fuck was the president doing there?
