You don't have to use your real name for the listing. I know many people who listed under their pets' names, for example. The only thing that has to be legit is your billing name.

Unless things have changed since I retired.

Our last name is rare enough that if someone who knows us _really_ wants to find us, they can. In the meantime, our kitty occasionally gets calls and credit card offers.

...since the late 1980s, when I wrote a letter to the editor of the local paper opposing homophobia, and began to get late night phone calls containing death threats. (Oddly, for someone who apparently hated homosexual activity, the caller would always mention that he was going to force me to perform fellatio on him and his friends before they killed me.)

Our number is in the book, but it is under my wifes maiden name. So, when someone asks for Mr. or Mrs. __________, we know they are cold calling us from the book. Many times, I simply say that no one by that name lives here (it ain't a lie).

Unfortunately, if someone is looking for me through the book, they will have a hard time.
