Woww--my neighbor is now a Former Republican!!
He's really a sweet old guy, and I have avoided talking politics with him just because I just assumed he was a repuke..too old to argue with, ya know? So I mentioned that I had family over in Iraq and he shouts, "We have no business being over there!!" I told him I totally agree, which relieved him (he didn't know my politics, either) then he told me he voted for Shrub in 2000, but he will be sure to vote against him now. Told me how a repuke fundraiser called him the other day and the old guy gave him an earful and said he is a FORMER Republican. He also said he keeps hearing how Bush is so popular here in Georgia, but said "I don't know one person, not one who still supports him". Brightened my evening--I only hope there are alot more like him out there. :-)

2. You would think the father of a VMI graduate would be a diehard
Republican, but walking past him the other day I heard the dad talking to another parent. He was indignant and he said, "Damn it, I want my food regulated! I want to know when I go to the store that some government agency has inspected and approved the food I buy!"

All across the nation, the light bulbs are beginning to turn on.

4. Your neighbor may not know his senior United States Senator.....
personally, but he would probably recognize the name: Zell Miller.
Perhaps, that puts Miller's delusions more in perspective.

6. Ugh, don't get me started on Zell from hell!
Zell is alot more out of touch than he likes to admit. Wouldn't it be funny if he ends up being the only Georgian to vote Bush in '04?! :-)

8. Newsmax.com has a feature on Zell
I think Zell was kicked in the head by a mule, or something qually traumatic. He is more than losin' it.

10. Older folks generally are waking up quicker
Because they lived their entire lives in the Old American Republic, so they notice better that it's transforming.

We are in very serious trouble when the WWII Generation finishes passing away.

The Baby Boomers, naturally, having suckled at the teat of the TV (and all of us thereafter, in case anyone thinks I am singling out Boomers for special blame...we are ALL to blame) are easy prey for Goebbels v2.0.

They and the rest of us stopped deserving the freeoms the WWII Generation saved for us at least a decade ago. It's just catching up with us now.
