Well young man, truss up your loins, guird up thy ass, and go ask. Also, I dosen't hurt to lower your standards some, see that somewhat chunky girl in the third row of pre-calc, shes dying for a date from you.

But she has too low a self opinion to ask you, so your going to have to ask her. What she gonna say, No? Thats just a little 2 letter word that means "Ask me again next week".

Its only a date, not a marrage proposal.

Now no more whiney excuses, just go ask, and keep asking until someone says yes.

You're young. I didn't get my first serious girlfriend well into my freshman year of college.

Make sure, if you do find someone, that you like her because you genuinely enjoy her company and personality, not because you want one and want to be "in love"!

Both are good in and of themselves, but sex with love is beyond special.

On edit: Love -- even without sex -- is beyond special.

11. No. Love. True Love Is Extremely Rare
and hard to find. That's why all of these "reality" shows about finding a mate are sooo ridiculous. Most people in our culture are too self-centered, too materialistic, too damn selfish to ever even know about true love.

To me, true love means that you're with that person no matter what. Through good times and bad. Through Clinton years and Bush years. You're going to stay with that person.

12. I'm not sure.
I'll have to ask my other hand.

Had to laugh when I was with a group of friends a long time ago, and the question was "What sexual actitivity that you have never tried would you most like to do?" and the reply from one was "Sex with a partner!"

Had to write them all down on a piece of paper without showing or telling anyone.

One older married couple both had the same reply: "Making love on a deserted beach". They are still the most loving couple I know. That was in 1992 They were in a 15 year relationship at that time.

14. Not even in the same state
Sex is just sex. Great and fabulous as it is, it is just that. It speaks to the physical side of us, and therefore is limited in scope. I can have a great 12 hour boink fest, and eventually that good feeling will fade.

True love is far and above any of that. Merely holding the woman I loved (and still love now after 4 months) gave me more joy than any orgasm. Falling in love with her awakened a part of me I never knew I had. In love, the mundane becomes extraordinary, a simple smile can chase away anything that has been bothering you. Three little words can have you soaring. Even a rebuke from someone you're in love with can make you feel better, because you know its was more than just hurt on her part that drove her to admonish you, it was also the fact that she knows you're better than that.

True love also makes you selfless. You are no longer the center of your universe. Sure, there are times when you do things for yourself, but nearly every thought and action are centered around someone you find beyond special. It is not a subjigation of yourself to someone else, but a welcoming of someone else into your being.

It is also never reaching a point of "oh, its her", but it always remaing "oh my god, its her".

It's meaningful and deeply satisfying if you happen to love your partner, but it's still fun if you don't.

28. No
I don't believe that sex and love are the same thing.

Sex is something that can be taken for granted, but love is something that when "true' can be lived forever. when I think about love I think of "Cherish, committment, white picked fence LOL).

I do believe that love when experience "true" doesn't have to involve sex. Sex without love is just sex. Sex with love, is a beautiful and rewarding thing.

30. Well, for me
Maybe it is just me, but I have "fallen in love" with everyone that I have had sex with after I have had sex with them, but I didn't exactly have sex with total strangers either. That, of course, has gotten me hurt. Luckily, I met my husband when I was 19 and he has been my only partner since. I suppose that suggests that I have a hard time separting the two. I think that I am hardwired for it. Orgasming with a person gives me a bonding type feeling towards them. Strangly, I have a similiar but different feeling when I get high with someone (I feel a friendship type bond with them as opposed to being "in love").
I know that I can love people without having sex with them. There are different types of love. I believe the form of love that involves deeply caring for a person and basically doing anything for them is the highest form of love and can be part of spousal, family, and friend love. It is just manifested differently in these situations. Only one form involves sex.

43. Well, let's see...
You can love sex. And, at least from my experience, you can find yourself in the midst of sexy, oceanic love.

Hmm...

It would appear that sex & love contain components of one another such that they may be understood as no-less than aspects of the same thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
