Sometimes I hate living in an apartment. |
|
I just called the cops because it sounded like a domestic disturbance was getting out of hand. Now I'm sitting here with the lights off. Ugh.
I've had to call 9-1-1 on domestic disturbances before. In the last apartment I lived in, the guy next door was always beating up on his girlfriend, then they managed to burn the place down. When the fire started, the police knocked on my door and told me to GET OUT NOW. I only had time to grab my parrot and get out the door. Firemen rescued my Senegal parrot. The snakes just had to deal with the smoke. Luckily my apartment didn't burn or suffer serious damage, but smoke residue covered everything. Ugh.
I've heard these people fighting before. If they can't keep from becoming violent, I hope they're forcibly removed. I can't stand living near violent people.

1. I used to hate living in apartments.......... |
|
I now live in the boonies in a house where I can play my music loud as hell and not care. Nearest neighbor is about 300 yards away. I don't have to hear other people raising hell, fighting, etc. I used to live in one apartment next to a nympho who I swear went through five different guys a week. Could hear this action clear as day. I empathize with your pain.

on the weekends, it's "Booming Rap Music from Cars" night outside. I've called the police, but they refuse to enforce the noise ordinance. It pisses me off because even though I'm on the third floor, my windows rattle.

4. I had the same problem with the lady upstairs |
|
She would play her stereo at full blast at all hours of the day and night(rap music, of course). I think she had to go to work early sometimes because the music would go off around midnight sometimes, then come on again at 5AM. I finally called the police to have them tell her to shut it off. (she paid no attention to the leasing office when they told her to keep it down)
The police department in my town came out immediately and off that stereo went at once! LOL!
I never hear her up there anymore. Sometimes I think she moved out...which is all right with me!

there's an elderly lady on the first floor who's incontinent and either oblivious or indifferent to it. She'll literally walk into the foyer dripping urine. I feel sorry for her, but how do you breach that subject with a stranger? There's all manner of weird sewage smells that come from her apartment too. I'm afraid that one day she'll die and decompose before anyone notices. I've tried to be friendly, but she acts suspicious and hostile while, at other times, completely ignoring you.

lousy neighbours.
The young guys downstairs played their music so loud the floor vibrated, the kid upstairs would jump on the spot for an hour, then drag gawd knows what piece of furniture around the whole apartment, then back to jumping again...and the guy across the hall would often knock on our door to use the phone after his girlfriend hit him with the phone/her shoe/purse, or whatever else was handy, and kicked him out.
The couple you mentioned sound downright scary. And when you're not well, you don't need any more stress.

I am so sorry, that in addition to all the medical problems you are enduring, that you have to put up with duelling and noisy neighbors! Some fine day I hope that you'll be able to have a nice house of your own, with adequate insulation so you won't have to hear outside troubles as much!

I've been an apt dweller for years and I am quiet, keep my place trash-free, don't have screaming fights with my boyfriends - yet so many of my neighbors think nothing of blasting a boom box from the parking lot, fighting at all hours of the night, leaving their fast food trash to see - I mean, what the f*** is WRONG with people?

10. I was hoping I'd get nice neighbors. :( |

If they don't stop, I'm going to have to complain.
