DC or S. Florida DUers--I need help |
|
Edited on Thu Nov-06-03 12:12 PM by jiacinto
First of all I have an MA degree in International Relations and Political Science. My undergraduate degree is in Pol Sci.
Now, if any of you knows of any openings in organizations or companies that would have positions of interest, I would appreciate it if you could pass my resume on.
I am in dire need of a good paying full time job. Can anyone here help me? I need a position that can start paying me immediately once I arrive in a new place.

10. I'll second that. No need to taunt people... |
|
...especially somewhat nice people, that are obviously in distress, it's just not cool.

If you knew what jiacinto has been through the last couple of months you would be ashamed of yourself for making such a lame ass attempt at humor.

I agree my comment was rude. I insulted not only Jiacinto, but the millions of Americans who work in those low-wage, non-union jobs.
When my Dad came to this country, he cleaned toilets for two years before he landed a job with Motorola...and he had several advanced Degrees from Cal-Poly, Berkeley and spoke three languages fluently. (Got his degrees first, returned to Argentina, married my mom, got a green-card and promptly began cleaning toilets for some sky-scraper in downtown Chicago.)
While what I said was thoughtless, let's remember that a crappy job at Wal Mart has just as much dignity as a person who writes essays all day at a Washington think-tank. In fact, the retail employee works a lot harder.

never heard of a job that pays you *immediately* upon arrival. You usually have to wait a pay period before you get a check, Carlos.
Also, what good would it do to have someone else pass your resume on to a possible employer? That's no way to job hunt, man.

Have you contacted both of your alma maters career centers. Also, there are public policy organizations which I forget now. They had job openings listed. Finally, go to the local University and ask a student to check the job openings.
If you need me to research the public policy orgs, send me a PM.

You pay into these systems, use them. That's what they're there for.

13. Carlos, what about a job with the Democratic Party? |
|
From what I have read, you do plenty fo work for them and should have connections.
Have you looked into that?
Plus your college degrees should give you some help there.
What about teaching?
