"I hate you mom!!"
Just caught the 5 yr old playing Tony Hawk on hubby'scomputer. Something huuby had expressly warned against before he left for work.

Kid told me, as tears poured down his face, "I hate you mom!"

ME: "What did I do?"

Kid: "You SAW me!!" (He used to tell us all the time when he was about to get in trouble, "Don't see me!" as he slinked off to wherever he was going to get up to mischief.)

Nope, it's not that he was doing wrong.. just that he got caught... and then I am the bad guy!

My gosh.. he sounds like a.. like a..

Republican!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh the horror, the horror! Someone hold me!

*lol*

As a childless-type-dude I won't offer advice, just a little support.

After all--you've got thirteen years before he can vote! :P

3. LOL. That reminds me of something my nephew said.
He was whacking his little sister and my SIL caught him. His reply? "Did you see me, or was it an accident?"

This is a regular point to get stuck at. Also 12/13 yr old stage. Good story.

8. LOL. Republicans DO act like children.
He's got a good Mom though. So there's a good chance of him growing up to be a Democrat with integrity.

9. Now... Now... Don't go calling the lad "a republican".
Else wise, he potentially, could, say... Grow up a
bitter lonely old guy who snipes online from his
mother's basement.

Uh, like some people I know...

Take my word for it. It happens.

I like pie.

35. Have we met?
I think it is funny when people complain "my parents never paid any attention to me". Sometimes, that is not a bad thing.

I read that he was upset at being shamed in front of you, not at getting caught doing something wrong.

he would cover his ears with his hands and glare at me defiantly.

He was not going to listen to my scoldings.

25. Oh, no worries for he's still young ...
But it's always a fun way of chastising rude or mean-spirited behavior within my immediate family to exclaim, "How republican of you!"

Now there's some guilt-tripping corrective therapy. ;)

I don't have kids, but if I did, I wouldn't allow them to use it unsupervised before the age of 12 or so.

"Charlie's Angels"--Chuee's Angels. "Incredible Hulk"--Cedable Huk. Groceries were uckies--which I always thought might be a reflection on my cooking. And, in the aftermath of the earthquake in the movie "Earthquake" he said, "who's gonna clean up that mess?"
