Manny Ramirez wants out of Boston again? All that $$$ and a Ring |
|
just aint cutting it for Manny? Is it that horrible playing in Boston as oppsed to in NY? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2120374If he goes to the Yanks or Mets and dogs it in the outfield like he does in Boston, the fans and NY press will eat him alive!

1. Manny has Hall of Fame talent |
|
but is dumber than a box of rocks. He has no self-discipline when it comes to his talent, which is a shame, because if he really put his mind to it he could be one of the all-time greats. He is just very good, but doesn't perform up to his full potential.
Loved him in Cleveland, that team in the 90's was awesome to watch.
But a fly ball hit his way was always an adventure.

2. If Manny really applied himself he'd hit 700HRs and hit .345 lifetime. |
|
Its like which Manny shows up today. His play in the field is absolutely horrendous. LF is not the most skilled OF position either.

It really gets me going to see talent like that not being used to its' full potential. I only wish that I had talent like that; my biggest wish that in the next life I get to be a MLB player.
My daughter got all the baseball talent in the family; she plays college fastpitch LF, SS, 1B, and whatever else the coach wants her to do.

4. Cool! Perhaps someday a woman can break into MLB. |
|
There's probably a few out there right now who can compete with the big-boys.

6. Did you happen to catch any of the Womens' Fastpitch |
|
World Championship last week? Those women were awesome.
I raised my three kids myself, two older boys and my daughter. She had the unfortunate experience of being both the youngest and the only female in the household since she was six.
The grade school softball team that she was on from grade 3 to 8 lost 1 game (that's ONE) in six years. The coach of that team was brilliant with the girls, Rich could write a book on it.
Having said that, she grew up running like the boys, (both soccer players), throws like me, (except she has a cannon for an arm) bats like Jim Thome, and takes no prisoners at anything. Started varsity fastpitch, volleyball, and basketball all as a high school freshman. Walked on the JC college team after taking a year off, and was made team co-captain at the end of the week. Hoping to finish out her eligibility at a good program at a Div.1 school. Fingers crossed.

7. I watched a show some years ago when womens fast-pitch pitchers |
|
threw against several major leaguers. Guess what? The boys had problems hitting the smoke these ladies were throwing. Imagine the velocity one can muster throwing underhand like that with a baseball instead of a softball??

9. I don't know how they can pick up the ball that fast |
|
My daughter says it's a timing thing and that's why a pitcher with a good change-up always has an "out" pitch.

5. Manny just has these weird mood swings... |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-30-05 08:15 PM by Baclava
...two weeks from now, he'll love Boston again. Reminds me a lot of the way Pedro used to be...always gotta have a little drama.
He's still a great hitter, but he's a lazy base runner and has mental lapses.
edit(although he's gotten better over the years)...

8. As a Met fan, I heard that there is some kind of three way deal |
|
in the works that may send him to the Mets, but I doubt it would work out, and if it does, he'll probably suck if he goes to the Mets. Because they are always good when they aren't on the Mets, but once they come, they stink...it always happens. And Yes, I know the Mets stink, thats why I've gotten used to cheering for other teams.
