I've seen women belch in bars before and I think it's kinda cool.

If they belch in a place where it will bring embarassment, that is uncool. If it's hanging around the back yard having a bar-b-que, no problem. Belch away. No complaining if we out-belch you though.

another one of those troubling "where is the line" questions.
It does seem that society accepts a double standard when it comes to belching and farting.
Why?
I always figured that everybody--male and female--has biological um, forces, at work. One should just usually be discreet and everything is fine.
Sometimes, though, the context calls for disinhibition.

68. around my house, everyone kind of expects Daddy to belch |
|
but if Mom did, it would be big news.
(I know first-hand that she belches plenty.)
If the younger daughter belches, she invariably makes a big show of it and the belch disintegrates into a fit of giggling. (She seems to aspire to join the Maddy McCall class of belching.)

belching and farting are of course, natural bodily functions. BUT there is no reason to be loud or obnoxious about them...I try like hell to let all of mine out quietly, unobtrusively...like that...How do you like my $20. words? LOL
This is my take on the subject, and I'm sticking to my views!

Of course, when you drink beer, and are feeling just a little bit high or whatever, then of course, really loud belches are appropriate!
I don't drink beer; therefore I keep my belches under wraps, and that's just fine with me!
