I guess awhile back fried chicken recipes were the source of a prolific flamewar.

... I must'a missed that. I love a good flame war, especially over something as uber-important as how to fry chicken :)
But, nothing's stopping getting a new one going!
Soak a cut-up chicken in milk for 1/2 hour
Add salt and black pepper to a cup or two of flour
Roll chicken in flour. Yes, it's supposed to be messy
(meanwhile, preheat a deep skillet with an inch or so of oil in it. Any oil will do, but corn, canola, or peanut would be best)
Crank up the heat on the skillet and let the oil get really hot. Don't want to "swamp" the temp down too low when you add the chicken.
Put the chicken in the oil. Leave the heat on high until the pan regains it's medium temp.
Cook for about 15-20 minutes on each side.
Take it out and eat it. If it is not delicious, you suck as a cook :)

8. It must involve breakfast cereal. |
|
Preferably along the lines of something like Cap'n Crunch or Count Chocula.
