For which NFL team should I cheer this year?
Basically, I consider myself a Ronin NFL fan. I enjoy watching the games, but I don't really have a team to cheer for. Ever since the Houston Oilers went scurrying off to Tennessee, I've been adopting a different team every year.

So, make the case for your team. I'll never be a die-hard fan, but I'll follow the team and hope for their success.

Before suggesting the new Houston team, please note that any team stupid enough to call themselves the TEXANS doesn't deserve my support. Plus, Poppy Bush is at WAY too many of their home games. :puke:

I was a St. Louis Cardinals (football and baseball) fan growing up. That area is my dad's home. Since the Cardinals (football) moved to Phoenix, and their owner is the worst in football, they are DQ'd!

21. The Green Bay Packers!
They have the toughest man in America, and Green Bay is a small town compared with every other NFL franchise. Unfortunately, they may not be able to stop anyone from scoring, but as long as Favre's there, they have a fighting chance. And as far as the "Texans" nickname is concerned, it's a recycled name. The now Kansas City Chiefs were called the Dallas Texans before they migrated north to KC. So they can't even think of an original name. Neither can the Tennessee Titans. Another recycled nick. The Jets were the Titans at one time.

He came to play my school a time or two, and although So. Miss. was seriously overmatched, Brett would pull a play or two out of thin air that was jaw-dropping. In our year book, he's just identified as "number 4". I like the Pack. :)

We have dropped the dead wait and booted the drug dealers. We will win the NFC West and possibly the super bowl. Plus you can watch people playing in the rain and we have one of the leagues premere running backs. We are the ultimate underdog we have not won a playoff game in 20 years.

29. Do you want a team that might win
Or do you like spending your viewing time throwing things at your TV?

Teams that I think will do well this year.

Philadelphia Eagles

New England Patriots

Indianapolis Colts

I also like the Baltimore Ravens and the Carolina Panthers. I expect them to make a good showing this year.

If you just wanna throw stuff at your TV you may want to consider the 49ers. :D

74. Well in that case, Kansas City is the team for you
They've had one of the most consistent offenses in football for the past three years, and now that they have addressed their defensive problems, they are definetly a team on the rise. Plus KC has great fans, and if you swing by Arrowhead stadium before the game, we are THE best tailgaters, bar none, in the entire league. As a bonus, you will be able to join us in hating the absolute worst team in the league, da Raiders:evilgrin:

- Team has a lot of potential
- On TV a lot at least here
I dont live in the area that would give me Steelers games weekly but I was extremely lucky to see them on TV a lot last year.

A team that's been kind of bad and is on an upswing.

I know what you mean about pent-up dislike, though. I still can't enjoy the Atlanta Falcons from when they had Jerry Glanville for their coach back in the early 90's. Watching them play the Oilers and how dirty they were back then, it left me tainted.

From a nice Democratic area, it's a team that's really starting to look good on paper and is on a serious upswing (it is, dammit!).

Plus, if you like to root for an underdog, there are few teams more underdoggy than the Lions. And we always get to play on Thanksgiving.

78. The Packers. They are owned by their community, they manage themselves
well (in terms of no ridiculous pay for players), and are actually an asset to the community they are in as opposed to a money black hole screwing over the taxpayers.

Plus, their fans are the most loyal, awesome people.

79. The Vikings
They have a very good QB in Daunte Culpepper with some new up and coming WR talent that should prove to be far less distraction than Randy Moss.

Their defense is far improved over recent years past...and they look great in purple!

And the Vikings have new and so far very decent ownership, which is commited to the team and the fans!
