Do you like Vista (Longhorn)? Guess what? MS won't certify its net safety!

Microsoft's new Internet Explorer 7 browser won't pass a stringent standards test that rivals have embraced.

In its browser blog, Microsoft acknowledged that IE 7 would not pass the Web Standards Project's Acid2 test, which examines a browser's support for W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) recommendations including CSS1 (Cascading Style Sheets), HTML4 and PNG (Portable Network Graphics).

Link has more and several relevant links.

Hey Microsoft: :hi:. Anyone using Longhorn/vista/whateverthefuckyouwanttocallit is a frigging moron who deserves the sympathy of nobody. Least of all you lot because you wouldn't shed a bloody tear unless you charged a subscription fee for it. x(

They can do this right before it's even released. The release is still over a year away. Not good by Micro$haft.

2. They're saying "bring it on". Besides, they know people won't flee them.
They can be as lax as they want and they know it.

They had been for some time in the past too; getting into the internet biz was one such example!

3. What does that have to do with safety?
It just means that IE7 will continue to render CSS crappily.

5. It's *already* broken
They're just saying they can't be bothered to fix it.
