5. Stay Strong
It's one of the hardest thing you will ever do. If you can overcome smoking you can overcome just about anything.

12. Oh, believe me I'm not. My kids would make my life so miserable it
wouldn't be worth living.

And it really isn't that I've saved a lot of money. I just have not have to find the money every day and a half to go buy a pack of cigarettes. And that has been nice.

Oh, and I breath a lot better. Best thing about quitting.

15. I'm getting there.
I'm to the point where i hate smoking, even as I have a cigarette in my mouth. I just need to get over that last hurdle and actually quit.

27. That's one thing I'll never understand about smokers...
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 10:13 PM by primate1
The fact that they actually like the smell. Tobacco smoke has to be one of the most repulsive smells I've ever encountered.

29. Honestly, I'm so self-absorbed that I don't really care
that I smelled like smoke. I only quit cause of the horrible death thing ...

Maybe I should do something about that self-absorption thing :)

17. I want one almost every day, and it's been 3 years now... but I just laugh
and walk away, and think of the fact that I've not spent more than $5,000 on a useless, smelly, murderous, foul, dangerous, unpleasant, unsightly, stinking addiction that funds REPUBLICANS.

24. I passed the 3 year mark last month, Miz...
and the thought that keeps me from puffing is:
Even if I HAVE the damn cigarette, the craving won't go away. It won't ease the craving for more than 5 minutes, and then the cravings will come back EVERY 5 MINUTES! Better to deal with them once a day, or once a week.
Also, I was so addicted, that if I smoke even one, I will be back to 2 packs a day, and that I literally CANNOT AFFORD, all health issues aside.
