Our living room is still over half filled with boxes and crap...and we have so many little hardware things and stuff to deal with, its exhaustive. i dont think there is enough time in the day!

2. I don't think I'm moving anything but my essentials next time |
|
I have a 3 person couch - great condition - with recliners on both sides.
Leaving it. Too goddamn heavy.
King size bed, great mattress.
Leaving it. Too goddamn big.

Unless I suddenly come about a windfall of cash, I'm not likely to be moving into any big places again. I'm damn lucky to be where I am, most places around here, if I tried to move my bed in, would allow me to open the door and jump -on- my bedroom. It's a relic of much richer times. Oh well.

my bed takes up most of my room....although at the apt. i just moved from I had a gigantic space, like 10 x 18, which was amazing. the new bedroom is like my bed and little bit of space around it...

I have moved all over the country and hauled along stuff that I only got rid of later. I will never do that again.:spank:

she promised to have her dad stop & buy a new phone to replace her old one ... she'll be calling me from there when she gets in
I would never corrupt anyone, just encourage them to get out & have fun ... like ... I talked her into coming to D.C. to meet-up with some of the awesome members of DU in September.

Daughter who I moved in with down here has decided she may want to get married to someone back home.
Plus landlord (ex-husband's current wife) doubled the rent because I am staying with my daughter. It gets nastier, but I'll spare the details.

Went from $300 to $500, plus extra utilities. It would not be legal if there was a lease. There is no lease.
Actually, we could cover the rent. It's just the hateful principal of the thing. Plus the bitch is causing other trouble, too.

the humidity was not bad at all. It made it not as bad as it could have been, though I was wtill soaking wet with sweat for most of saturday, moving out of the fourth floor of a walkup will do that too you.
and thanks for being my 2000 post!  :toast: :pals:

I'm moving stuff from my house of eight years to an apartment 1/3 the size. divorce is so much sad and tragic as it is a royal pain in the ass. i'll be glad when it's finally over.

my ex- moved "her stuff" out a couple weeks ago, so anything that's left is apparently "mine". I'm going to chuck most of it (or give it away), because I want to simplify my life right now.
hope your move is going good. best of luck

25. I'm halfway thru my move from a 4-bdrm house to a 3-bdrm. |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 11:38 AM by stopbush
At least we'll own the 3-bdrm. We downsized as much as possible - trashed a ton of junk we've been lugging around the country for 10 years. That felt good.
At least you don't unpack to a deadline! Packing is much worse.
Our stuff arrives Thursday...I know what I'll be doing this weekend.
On edit: this is our third move in 3 years:
2003 - NJ to Las Vegas 2004 - Moved to a bigger house in LV 2005 - Moving from LV to CA
Yeah, moving sucks.

31. I hate moving - you have my sympathy |
|
I recently tallied up how many times I've moved in my adult life (I moved several times with my family when I was a kid, too but I didn't count those) - came to over 30! :nuke:
I've been at my present place for over four years and I still have stuff in boxes. Every time I move, I lose something important and irreplacable, too.
