I started today by having a mammogram, and things have gone downhill |
|
ever since. Disgruntled staff, contracts cancelled, big dull meeting scheduled for after normal working hours, blah blah blah. Ugh.

1. If the gram comes out normal, |
|
all that other stuff will quickly fade away. Best of luck :-)

a mammogram ruins my whole day, can't do anything else after being squashed and smashed, i take the day off and rest
there needs to be a better way
the last time i had it done at least the radiologist went ahead and looked at it while i was there, no waiting and wondering

7. You just reminded me, I need to go and have my boobs smashed... |
|
and squashed this month. Guys, you don't have this procedure done. When your mate has this done, please take her out for a cool margarita.

8. I'm okay with the 'gram. It's the "other procedure" that always leaves me |
|
in tears.
I know it's all in my head and my Calvinist upbringing, but I always leave feeling shamed, dirty and broken.
:-(

There should be adequate booze on hand for afterward since those bastard doctors refuse to provide mixed drinks in the waiting room.

is bound to be a downer. Hope the results are good for you. At least you got that over with early and didn't have to wait til 4PM to put on deodorant! ;)

19. I sorta had your day yesterday |
|
No tit smashing (had that earlier this year for the first time - obviously some damn man came up with that "procedure").
I found out yesterday that I have to have my right ovary removed. It's swollen to roughly the size of a tennis ball and very painful. Of course this happens when I finally meet the perfect man, get engaged and want to try to have a child soon.
 from me to you.

I hope that works out for you. If your left ovary is working, you can still try for children - and good luck with that!

25. Many, many women have gotten pregnant |
|
with only PART of one ovary...nevermind a whole one...the body senses the loss, and the other ovary goes into slightly higher gear; it releases an egg every month instead of every other month...
As long as your fallopian tube is open, you shouldn't have ANY problem getting pregnant!
Do keep us informed, if this isn't too personal, after all...We are here for YOU!
:pals:

You shamed me into calling and scheduling my mammogram appointment - I got the reminder a month or two ago and blew it off.
September 6, I will be cursing you. Just so you know. :)
(on the plus side, your day just got better because you can feel good that you potentially saved some stranger's life - isn't that as important as a long meeting?)

26. Was interviewing a focus group of OB/Gs - both M and F |
|
and one of the guys said "I don't know why women are so reluctant to get mammograms."
One of the nice, matronly-looking doctors said to him "well, let's have you guys put your pen&s between two metal trays, and we'll squeeze really hard and see how you enjoy it."
I thought I was going to fall out of my chair.

If men had their testicles examined by smashing them between two plates of glass, cancer would have been cured decades ago.
