2. My mother left our dog Toro for about a week at the kennel

with our vet....she was visiting me down here in Las Cruces when I was living here as a trial run...

When she got back, he was so pissed that he was snotty and avoided her for two weeks!!!!

At the time, he was an only dog. He's a ratty Chihuahua and had already been spoiled silly, which might have added to the situation.

Two weeks seems to be the standard for Chihuahuas. My mom's is spoiled silly, as well.

3. My kitty is frequently pissed.

In fact, she is pretty much a pissy kitty (and I mean that in the most endearing way possible). She has an attitude. If I kick her off my lap, she ignores me for the rest of the day.

My dog never holds a grudge against me. She won't eat when I'm gone, but once I return it is all good.

When I came back to visit he'd make sure I was looking at him, and then slowly turn his back towards me and ignore me the whole time I was there. I got this treatement for a couple of weeks before I was forgiven for leaving the pack.

The cats have been. I was going to say "not the dog" but I forgot about the spite pissing and shitting she pulled on me a few months ago to herald the end of 'The Pefect Dog' era. My crime? I gave her a bath.

9. My dog took a leak on my jacket

I worked in a computer lab and it was cold so I didn't smell it. I felt it running down my back after I sat down in a chair and then the smell hit me. :puke:

10. Several years ago, we had two dogs---

Toby and Kaly. Toby died six weeks before his seventeenth birthday, which left Kaly alone when we were at work. So, I brought home a kitten we named Miss Kitty. About six months later, Kaly died from congestive heart failure. That left Miss Kitty alone. Now, Miss Kitty loved me--if I sat down, she was in my lap. I went to the Humane Society and got her a companion, Cuddles. Apparently, Miss Kitty didn't want a friend and she got mad at me and totally shunned me for over a year. Would not have anything to do with me even though she and Cuddles seemed to be getting along alright. One night I was watching TV and Cuddles got in my lap and I was petting and petting---and when I looked down at her-- it wasn't Cuddles---IT WAS MISS KITTY!!! She had finally forgiven me and had come back to me.

Our puppy gets very jealous when we have "alone time" ;). So far she has pissed on our comforter 4 times out of spite. She is getting over her jealousy streaks, now, though.
She got over it pretty quick all 4 times... the one thing she hates more then anything else is to be ignored for 15 minutes. By then she licks our toes, which is her way of asking for forgiveness. Then we give in and all is well in the world. We haven't had an incident like that in a couple weeks now.

I left a cat once for two weeks at a friends house while I was out of the country.

He was so POed at me when I came home that for about a week every time I'd talk to him he'd glare at me squint his eyes and walk off twitching his tail.

He gets angry when he feels slighted in anyway. Siamese cats used to be worshipped as gods and they have never forgotten it.

16. In the past when I left my dog at a kennel he ignored me

when I got him back. Last week I left him at a "spa" for dogs instead of a kennel and he had no attitude at all. I have the pictures to prove he was having a good time without me!

17. yep, my kitty got up on her hind legs and smacked me upside my head.

and she planned it, she woke me up and when i turned the light on and sat up, she sucker punched me. like one of those boxing kangaroos. i was very proud of her, i deserved it.
i never stayed out for 48 hours without calling home again.

You need to bribe them like children. (For cats) A trip to the vet - a can of tuna - nail clipping - lots of kisses and petting

Washing the bottom - lots of kisses and petting and maybe canned kippers as a treat (cats love canned kippers)

With cats just kiss them even if they pretend to not like it (they do)

Althea recovers pretty quickly and is her normal friendly purring self.

I think Quinn is still pissed at me for bring Althea home to begin with. :)

21. heh - Sonya used to follow us around

when she was mad just so she could sit down with her back to us. That lasted until we'd make over her and give her a treat. Don't even tell me dogs don't know exactly what they're doing. :D

Scarlett's pretty happy. Mr. Kitty just bites us when he's mad, then he's over it.

My cat is only sneaking in to cuddle and eat at 1am, and back out before dawn these days. Why? The 2 rescue kittens happily taking over the house.

She's gone up to two days refusing to come in, and giving me cold, haughty stares, before she gives in. She wants me to stroke and cuddle her in the yard, and serve her there while the intruders are poaching on her house.

After 4 weeks, she's reached the point where she'll come in to eat and visit without me going looking for her. She'll hang out in my bathroom for awhile. But that's it.
