BTW my reason for leaving the group came about when one side of my face became paralyzed making it very painful to speak (or chew food) I also experienced a partial blindness in one eye so it bacame impossible to read or even see anything clearly

13. not totally

that was 3 1/2 years ago

at first my face scared small children and that was all it took for me to completely hide from the world for a long time ... I really hate frightening anyone (except freepers & abusers)

by the time I screwed up enough courage to go back around strangers in a social setting it was over 3 years later at the Boston meet-up when I was still very sick which clearly showed in a few of the picture threads from that weekend

today ... my looks and my health are not totally back to normal ~ but ~ I don't scare little children anymore, I am still troubled with an odd blindness that comes and goes ... posting on the web is a daily challenge ... however I am still seeing improvement

it's been a long slow recovery & I'm holding onto hope that the test were correct ... there seemed to be no permanent nerve damage ~ I refuse to give up on leading a normal life

I missed the painful years of your paralysis. I have the legendary "then" and the legendary "now" of you. By meeting you in person, I was able to link the two in my mind. I love your guts and humor. I'm proud to call you my friend. And I think in your present physical condition, you're a dead-ringer for Lauren Bacall.

I think that physical disfigurement can happen to any one at any time for any reason. It amazes me since you have pulled through such a bad time with more spirit than maybe you entered it. I admire and love your class and courage.

It was a lot of fun. I'll admit it wasn't my first choice, but that was the only show filming that night that had room in the studio audience. Seinfeld was filled. :(

14. That show had some amazingly funny moments

Particularly when they were trying to get him to stop snoring, and when he decided (unilaterally) to have Troy Aikman be the sperm donor for them.

(I'll never forget Nelson taking back the small cup and opting for a mayonaise jar..."What am I thinking? You're Troy Aiman!"

GSN is showing an episode a night and just whipping through the seasons. I only started watches 2 seasons ago, and I love the show, so this is heaven for me.
