I nominate Slinkerwink to be the new Will Pitt
Will Pitt has been the most popular poster here on DU for sometime, but he has become boring. So I am formally nominating Slinkerwink to be the new most popular poster.

I don't know what she did. Maybe it was that photo post. But she has definitely made an impression.

And I think she is cool.

Every time I send him a message criticizing something he writes or even commenting for that matter. He always replies with his cheerful,

"hey asscrack."

The truth is I like Will and most things he writes.

20. let me explain.....having a sense of humor helps....
I've gotten laid simply by making a girl laugh. Having a sense of humor is great-----just make a cute little joke, and you'll have her laughing.

Eye contact's also important as well as smiling---flash a dimple or two and you'll get her interest.

Really get to know her---ask her---women love to talk about themselves, and that's true.

If she seems tired, offer her a back rub or neck massage. Just let your hands massage her neck/back, and have your hands move down lower---just pay attention to her body language.

Kiss her really well---none of those slobbery kisses. A soft, gentle kiss's great at first, and then do a little sucking on her bottom lip---press your body against hers. Feeling her breasts come up against yours is such a major turn-on, trust me.

I could go on and on.....

32. well....how about my asking Dick Cheney a question which he didn't answer?
This is an entry from this past summer in my livejournal:

I had a very interesting day. Why was it so interesting?

For starters, I got to see Dick Cheney aka "Heart Attack Man" speak today, and I also got to ask him a question. Here's how it happened from the beginning.

I had to leave my office at 11AM to get there early enough to get a decent seat so I could hear Dick Cheney speak to us. When I arrived at the Hart Building, I found to my dismay that there already was a long line of interns. I spoke to one girl and she'd been waiting in the line since 9:30 AM. I was about to give up when I remembered that I was deaf. It was definitely time to pull what I call the "deaf" card.

I walked past the long line of interns, and stood at the table in front of the woman who was signing the interns into the conference room. I told her that I was hearing-impaired and I needed to get a front row seat so that I could read the Vice-President's lips. The woman was stumbling all over herself to help me and enthusiastically showed me to the front row where I got the best seat in the room. I was directly in front of the podium where Dick Cheney would speak.

I had to wait an hour in that chair. My butt was about to go numb when Trent Lott walked onto stage. You could see the oiliness that was seeping off his skin, that kind of political oiliness that comes from lying to people for so long. I recoiled from him inwardly and he stood in front of the podium. He talked about what a great man Dick Cheney was and how long they had known each other.

Then Dick Cheney came onto stage. He looked a lot smaller than he looked on television. What gray hair he had left in the election of 2000, had gone completely white. Cheney looked more like a CEO than a Vice President of the United States. He adjusted the mike and started to speak.

Cheney talked about how great it was to work for a country as great as ours, and how important it was for us to combat terrorism everyday. He went on at a great length about the dangers of terrorism, never quite naming who those terrorists were.

Then it was time for questions. Only interns from the front row could ask the questions. I realized that most of the interns beside me in the front row were probably hand-picked to ask safe, innocuous questions that would not embarass the Vice President. I knew I had an opportunity to ask the Vice President a question that wasn't scripted by his aides. I stood in line and garnered a strange look from the chief of staff in Trent Lott's office. I ignored the looks I was getting from the other interns.

The guy in front of me had finished asking his question which was about what it was like for Cheney on September 11th. Cheney, predictably enough, had given a long patriotic spiel about how proud he was the country had pulled together in a time like that.

"Will the young lady with the tie please come forward?" Cheney asked, motioning me forward to the mike.

I stepped forward, adjusted my tie a bit, and looked squarely at the Vice President of the United States.

"My name is Noelle, and I am hearing-impaired. I have a question to ask that most disabled Americans would like to be answered. That question has to do with Social Security. Since I am hearing-impaired, I receive disability benefits from Social Security every month to help pay the expenses that comes from being disabled. Right now, I am worried about Social Security because our present economy is running an extremely high budget deficit. I have heard that this administration is planning to take some funding from Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security to help pay off a bit of the deficit. If that happens, then what will happen to my disability benefits which I sorely need? How will your administration, in 2004, help ensure the safety of disability benefits from Social Security for disabled Americans like me?"

I stood away from the mike, and my heart had never beaten so hard before. The Vice President started to speak that the budget deficit was because of September 11th, when I noticed that his mike was blocking his mouth.

"Um, sir? Can you please lower the mike so I can read your lips?" I interrupted Dick Cheney, who apologized and lowered his mike.

He kept on talking about how important it was to have money to fight terrorism, and my eyes glazed over from the ridiculously vague answers he was giving. He did not answer my question. He did not give me his administration's plan for Social Security for deaf Americans. I just grinned, rolled my eyes, and sat back down in my chair.

I loved the fact that I had interrupted the Vice-President of the United States.

well, I'm hearing-impaired with a cochlear implant
so I have a deaf accent although people I've met, including the President of my college, seem to think I have an eastern european accent. The President of my college asked me if I was from the Balkans. She looked confused when I said I was from Texas. I ended up clarifying it by saying I was hearing-impaired. You could see the dawn of comprehension come over her face and she did a huge "OH!"
