Peterson is guilty! Are you all so blind????
Edited on Fri Nov-07-03 04:58 PM by TDubyaA
Peterson killed his wife. He couldn't wait to get out of that marriage.

Forget about Amber. On three other occasions he tried cheating on his wife. The first time, he left his wife to be with Arlene Horsley. Then he started up a thing with Phyllis Henshaw. And penultimately, he tried to hook up with a client. But have any of these women been mentioned, let alone asked to testify?

Moreover, why did it take so long for the media and the public to suspect Peterson of complicity in his wife's disappearance. For eleven years all we heard were his snide remarks about her, but not once did anyone ever see her. You would think after the first season a red flag would have gone up, hello!!!

I've had it with the criminal justice system in this country!

George Bushs G.O.O.P.

You know what I'm talking about, the Peterson case. Have you been out of the country for the past six months???? Just turn on the cable news, night after night.

Mr Peterson did it and you don't need some hot shot lawyer like Gloria Albright to figure it out.

...seriously, after a decade of "Celebrity Court" I instinctively and reflexively flip channels at the mere mention of "high profile court cases". I know so little about the "Peterson case", I could be called as a juror. Seriously. I should shut up now before someone does so...

Oh, and "don't play goy"? I hope you meant "don't play coy", but with their being a full key seperating the c and g keys, a mistype would be rare. What's "playing goy"?

19. What does it matter what we think? And, even if he doesn't need Albright
he still needs a lawyer.

In this country, people are given a trial before they are convicted of a crime. That's the way it is. Deal with it.

64. I second your "who cares"-
Why am I hearing about a murder case in California? What makes the media in this country think I need to know about this case? It isn't the first time a guy killed his wife, it won't be the last. I guess all those vultures that made a living off of the O.J. trial need something to keep them busy.

or the evidence, or interviews with witnesses, or suspects, or anything. Amazing.

You know, George Michael once stated in a song, "... guilty feet have got no rhythm..." Maybe we should ask him to dance. If he dances like a dork, he must be guilty.

Personally, I will wait for our system to play itself out, and we'll see what happens.

But even more personally, I care as much for this case as I do for Kobe Bryant's case. Which is not much. These cases are not unique, and should be treated as such, not sensationalized.

23. Laci Peterson
To the original poster of this thread: man, you're hot and bothered about this, I can tell. Are you personally involved somehow? Yeah, it was a heinous crime, and this Scott guy certainly "looks" guilty. But that's not the same thing as "being" guilty. Right? I think it's impulsive, and detrimental, to rush to judgment about such things. Let's let the people who have the facts do what they're doing now, regarding this case. If inept prosecutors blow it (for the ten-millionth time), then we can rant about justice denied. In the meantime, I personally think that this whole case is just another media-generated bunch of hype, done for ratings. Far too many women (and men, and children) get killed on a daily basis in this country (to say nothing of other countries), and the media picks up on, basically, none of it. They focus only on the "sexy" slaughters, which is beyond cyncial, and, frankly, verges on the sociopathic.

55. Two problems with your theory here:
1.) You're assuming the prosecution is competent and have been above board with what they've found.

2.) You're assuming what you're reading in the newspapers has any semblance to truth.

He could have done it, but then again, what you read about what he said or did could be abunch of hooey--the media has and always will make stuff up. The police and prosecution have, and always will ignore evidence if it might clear someone because it screws up their theory.

65. OJ Simpson's Search
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 08:00 PM by TDubyaA
First everyone thought it was the Columbian Mafia. But as we've all learned since 9/11 it was Al-Qaeda and Saddam's Bapthist Party.

The one good thing President Bush could do for this country is to help OJ find the real killers by paying his airfare to Kandaha. I think most Americans would support him and his poll numbers would go through the roof.

69. I know, it's pathetic
I'm sick of the Peterson case. Why doesn't everyone just drop it already. There are more important issues! (like Rosie's civil suit)

:grr:

72. Thank God we don't punish people after trying them...
in the court of public opinion.

Frankly, your opinion on this is irrelevant. It's not YOUR decision to make. And Civil Rights (like the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty, and the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures, and the right to not self-incriminate) are MUCH more important than if one guilty person goes free.

Better that 100 guilty go free than 1 innocent person be convicted...

Yes we don't punish people after trying them ... which is why I support a constitutional amendment. It's time to roll back the bill rights until we've won the war on terror. Once we've defeated Alcoa and captured FBI Director Mullah and Red Sox shortstop Omar Garciaparra, we can then reinstitute the full panoply of civil liberties, on a trial basis.

Better that 100 convicted be set free than one person be found innocent.

IMHO
