Anybody tried "boba tea?" |
|
Apparently it's a huge hit in southeast asia and it's just starting to crop up here.
I hear it's a concoction of green tea, fruit juices, cream, and tapioca pearls.
Sounds weird, but it's wildly successful.

this is where I read about it. http://www.eugeneweekly.com/2005/07/21/chow/features.html#1But they use coffee and don't mention flavors.

13. Thanks, I think I'll try making some |
|
but I think I will substitute the large tapioca pearls for small ones and use some kind of powdered fruit flavored drink mix to the concoction instead of instant coffee and see how it turns out.
I've been wanting to open a coffee shop and I'm thinking if I put this on the menu it might just give me something unique in this area to snag customers.

5. Yes Bubble Tea out here in Seattle |
|
It's very popular. I don't like the tapioca pearls but the drink itself can be quite refreshing. It comes in all kinds of fruity flavors.

Served with huge straws (so you can suck up the black tapioca pearls). Good stuff, but a bit sweet.
