Street gang in Montana

Havocdad recognizes this spot from his misspent youth. Said he ran into grizzlies there long ago.

5. das what my Havocdad said!
He looked at the pic (emailed to me) and laughed. Said "Glacier, and I met up with a mess o bear at that spot too!" If ya look, two of the bears seem to be sizing up somebody in the direction of the camera.

Havocdad said not to take risks like that. Those bears can move as fast of faster than a race horse for a short sprint like that. In his younger (and faster) days, he got 'tagged' on the backpack by a grizzely's swat. Said if he had been moving any slower he'd have been history. Moral: Do NOT surprise a griz. If they hear you, they will wander off in most cases. If you manage to cross through the brush and sruprise one, LOOK OUT!

7. I thought so...
I see bears on that road all the time. Mostly black bears and an occasional griz.

I lived 20 miles north of there for a year....saw wolves and griz out the kitchen window. I've heard griz are strong enough to pull a car door off it's hinges...I don't think I'd want one "swatting" at me.

6. You know, I'd been considering moving to Montana when I was older...
Looks like I may have to rethink that.
