"Midway Park"- Whiskeytown
The band that made Ryan Adams "Ryan Adams", and also one of my favorites. This is probably my favorite song of theirs, and it's a perfect late-night song to listen to while on the road..

Ride with you tonight, I’ll ride forever
There’s no way to predict this kind of weather
Ashes fall to earth, words are severed
Feathers turn to weighted iron pillars

In Midway park
Streetlights shine on a hood that is dark
Down on the graves
Where we’ll lie..we’ll lie..we’ll lie

Think of you tonight, I’ll think forever
There’s no way to predict this kind of weather
Ashes fall to earth, words are severed
Feathers turn to broken beads and pillars

In Midway park
Streetlights shine on a hood that is dark
Down on the graves
We’ll lie..where we’ll lie..we’ll lie

Don’t tell the truth, we’ll lie
Just lie.
Don’t tell the truth
Just lie.....

1. "Main Street" - Bob Seger,
Another good late at night song.
Main Street

Words and music by bob seger

I remember standing on the corner at midnight
Trying to get my courage up
There was this long lovely dancer in a little club downtown
I loved to watch her do her stuff
Through the long lonely nights she filled my sleep
Her body softly swaying to that smoky beat
Down on mainstreet

In the pool halls, the hustlers and the losers
I used to watch 'em through the glass
Well i'd stand outside at closing time
Just to watch her walk on past
Unlike all the other ladies, she looked so young and sweet
As she made her way alone down that empty street
Down on mainstreet

And sometimes even now, when i'm feeling lonely and beat
I drift back in time and i find my feet
Down on mainstreet
Down on mainstreet

2. Segar's 70's stuff is great
And alot of the songs like "Main Street", "Against The Wind", and "Night Moves", even though have been played to death by classic rock stations, still strike a chord to alot of people. Those songs were a part of my youth, especially growing up in the midwest; I'll always look at Segar fondly for that voice..

3. oh, I love 70s music
That's what I mostly listen to, 70s and 80s stuff. Seger does resonate with a lot of people, he's one of those guys who is a deceptively great songwriter. You almost forget how good he is until you really listen to a song and it hits you.

Have you ever heard his earky stuff from the late 60's when he was The Bob Seger System? Made some kick-ass Detroit Rock N Roll..

5. no I haven't
Well, I may have and just don't remember. I bet that was some great stuff though. I'll have to search some out, or hit you up for it since you're the point man for all this stuff.
