What sadist decided Dayquil would taste like that?

My laryngitis turned into a full-blown...whateverthehell it is... overnight last night, and I'm home from work and feeling just a few shades short of death.

My very nice SO, who is around today, went to the corner market (with limited med selection) and got me Dayquil, as I had nothing appropirate for shades of death.

Dear lord. Is there any reason for this liquid to taste so vile? I know they can make decent-tasting cold medicine with these exact ingredients (albeit in smaller doses), as the toddler gets the Tylenol Fever Reducer stuff and she doesn't scream or cry or balk.

This stuff better work.

NyQuil is AWFUL tasting too. I HATE licorice (sp?) with a passion, and the regular stuff tastes just like it! :yoiks:

I sometimes think they make it on purpose with that taste to see how much adults can stand.

OMG! I had just taken a mouthful of Zombyespresso and it was touch and go there for a minute!

I finally swallowed it, and I was able to laugh freely, but man, it was very close there!

18. Yeah, I used to laugh at the pediatric nurses when they would suggest

that I give it to my kids. I bought one bottle when it first came out and my toddler wouldn't touch it. It said on the bottle "great grape flavor" so I tasted it to find out what the problem was. Holy cow, I threw it out and never bought another bottle. If I couldn't drink it, I surely wasn't forcing it on my sick kids.

Besides, a little brandy will make them feel so much better and doesn't taste any where near as bad. :evilgrin:

my son had to take a med that tasted like shit...so the doctor says..."mix it with pudding"....so we try that and it makes the pudding taste like medicated shit....to make it taste like pudding my poor kid would have had to eat a 5 gallon bucket of pudding...
