For me it's a tie between the jury room of the Marinette County Courthouse in Marinette, WI and the Elizibeth Pfiffner DeBot Center at UWSP

The coffee in the jury room, oy,I don't even want to think about it. :puke:

At the DeBot Center, lemme put it this way. The guy who lived next door to me in the dorms last semester served for eight years in the Navy, and HE complained about the coffee there.

1. At a little store off Dupont Circle in DC
where I used to work. This wasn't really a coffee store. The guy warned me it had been roasting and cooking for HOURS, but I was desperate for some caffeine.

4. Army Coffee
Recipe:

Take a 48 quart pot, fill it with water.

Dump in a can of coffee.

Boil away 20% of the water.

Serve in a metal cup so as to maximize the tin flavor.

16. Thread winner
Ever tried the 55 gallon drum version?

Tastes like shit, but wakes you up - lovingly called Texas Tea - by Texans anyway.

6. When I was in high school we used to stop at this family diner
before and after school because you could smoke there and they didn't care if you only ordered coffee & pie.

That coffee was HORRIBLE. It tasted vaguely of pencil shavings and was pretty much just brown water.

On the plus side, they'd give each table it's own pot of the stuff.

I swear to god it was a mixture of cardboard and battery acid. I actually couldn't drink the stuff and brought my own in to make daily. Of couese I would share the pot, but rule was, I get the first cup.

Bob Evans ... the food was better than most chains but next time I'll have a Coke with my bacon & eggs like any proper Southerner should.

20. A small town cafe near here with godawful weak coffee.
:puke: I had to go to McDonald's next door for some decent brew.
There's also some unts at work, Respiratory Therapy most notably who make their coffee weaker than most teas. I can remember Mom complaining about some ladies at church making coffee that was weaker than dishwater. :puke:

... I ordered a cuppa at the base lodge and sat down at a table. Took out my spoon and heaped in my usual 2 teaspoons of sugar.

Stirred it up and took a big gulp .......................... and GAGGED!!

Some "wit" had replaced all the sugar in the bowl .... with SALT.

Oh, that'll get 'em going....

Made from burnt beans, stirred with a charred stick stolen from a Hindu funeral, and then boiled till it scorches, for extra "flavour"

Brrrrrr!

You shouldn't be able to SEE THROUGH COFFEE. Her church is straight out of A Prairie Home Companion-chock full of Norwegians who love weak, week coffee.
