Just witnessed an unusual jet aircraft event

About 38,000' went into a circling pattern in an area I would guess it shouldn't be. In an air corridor. The air corridor is north/south and it fly into the corridor east/west. Then it dssappeard. Meaning the jet trail which all jets have disappeared as we watched it.

5. No, looks like a spacing issue.

Too little spacing to O'Hare or wherever. We usually use speed and vectors, but sometimes it's easier to give them a spin or two instead.
