Anyone have any idea why this message is being left on my answering machine several times daily, complete with that obnoxious phone-siren noise? How do I make it stop?

1. Most likely,

someone is calling and hanging up, and your machine is not hanging up on them completely. My old machine used to do it too. Annoying, eh?

to figure out that your number is not a fax number>?

3. It's being left on your answering machine?

Sounds like either someone is playing nasty jokes on you, or possibly your phone is somehow being dialed out by accident. You got any pets that go near the phones that may knock the recievers askew? Barring that, do you have a time stamp on your answering machine, and caller ID or at least *69? You might be able to find the source of the problem that way....

Barring all else, I hope you have that line service plan on your phone lines that costs like $4 a month, so that you won't have to pay if something's wrong with your wiring or something.
