6. And where would you put them?
They had a good vocalist and one good song, they were seriously unoriginal, they had nothing to say, and I can't recall that any of them were squat as an instrumental musician.

8. I think people who love them tend to overrate them and people
who hate them underrate them. You have songs that really wouldn't have been that big if they didn't have an unbelievable vocalist delivering them. So the question is, how valuable is superb delivery of a not-so-superb song? I don't know -- it's all subjective.

I like them. And I'm a hetero male. But I'm a big fan of vocalists, so there you go...

13. have to disagree
The early Journey stuff was actually pretty creative. And how can you say that there was no instrumental talent. The guitarist was quite good and played with at least 3 successful bands in his career. (You're entitled to your opinion of course) :)

Edited on Thu Aug-04-05 09:17 PM by Trajan
Ya gotta love'm ....

I fuckin adore Limp Bizkit .. Fred Durst is one of the most creative artists of the alternative genre ....

He is a fucking genius ...

Genesis: They introduced me to classically infused progressive rock, AND to Peter Gabriel ...

Where would I be without Peter Gabriel ?

How bout Yes ? ..... chuckles: Now THERE is a band that SO many loved, and SO many despised ...

Me ? ... loved'm ...

Devo .. B 52's ... Violent Femmes ... Gentle Giant ... Van Der Graaf Generator ... ELP ... HATED by many, and adored by me .... I simply didnt listen to what I didnt prefer ... Do You ?

There are many bands I didnt care for, but I frankly never think about them: Life is WAYYYYY too short to worry about things you dont like ...

The world is SO much richer when we seek what we like ... and enjoy ....

I havent enough time on this earth to waste it hating stuff ....

man, they will always hold a special place in my heart... walking around in between events of my high school track meets with my walk-man. Sing with me dammit!

Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you bad
But I did anyway
Now maybe
Well some will say your life was sad
But you lived it anyway
And so maybe
Your friends can stand around and watch you crumble
As you fall into the ground
And some day
Your friends can stand beside as you were flying
Oh you were flying oh so high
But then someday people look at you
The world they called their own they watch you suffer
Yeah hear you calling home
And someday we can take our time to brush the leaves aside so you can reach us
And won't you left me far behind
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
But I did it anyway
And now I'm sayin
But maybe
Some will say that what you had
But you couldn't tell the pain yeah
No no no
Couldn't share the pain to watch you suffer
Mmm..
Now maybe
Couldn't make my own mistakes
But I live apart alone
And then maybe
We might share and something grey won't you look at where we've grown
Won't you look at where we've grown
And someday comes tomorrow holds
Sense of what I fear for you in my mind
There's a trip of final light
And that cold day when you lost control
Shame you left my life so soon you should have told me
Hey but you left me far behind
Now maybe
I didn't mean to treat you oh so bad
Oh but I did it anyway
Now maybe
Some could say that you what you had
But you couldn't share the pain and no no

81. I'm not a big music person
so I might be a little presumptive with my choices, but I would say that The Village People and The Knack are pretty rotten. The VP had a few hits, but the music wasn't really as good as people like to think (or remember) it is, and as for the Knack, they contributed my absolutely LEAST favorite song to musicdom, so they're crap IMO.

84. Well..
I've always picked Static-X. Not really sure I can pinpoint what puts them above Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, and the rest.
