List some foods you swear are manna from heaven |
|
(just an expression, not trying to exclude atheists and other non-heaven faiths)
I could live on top quality ice cream and gourmet chocolate. But, then again, I would be like 500 pounds.
What's on your list?

7. Lefse, macaroni with real butter and real Parmesan cheese |
|
(as opposed to the cardboard-in-a-can stuff), homemade waffles with homemade syrup, Mom's cinnamon rolls, mashed potatoes and homemade beef gravy, fall-apart tender roast beef, almost any premium ice cream, fresh apple pie, hot-out-of-the fryer mini doughnuts at the fair, Pronto Pups at the fair, Mom's Christmas meatballs, crisp and buttery sandbakkelse...I could go on, but I'm afraid I'll gain weight just reading the list.

Boiled first, then fried in real butter till lightly brown and crisp on the outside. Sauerkraut, potato, cottage cheese, damn near any kind come to think of it.
Asiago cheese bagels.

Edited on Thu Aug-04-05 09:49 PM by pabsungenis
The secret is to mix half a jar of mild salsa in with the ground beef, and use crumbled Ritz crackers instead of breadcrumbs.
Edit to correct spelling of "mozzarella." Bad Italian boy! Bad!

Coconut meringue pie (with coconut flakes slightly cooked on top)
Pecan Pie--with real Texas pecans and with real cane sugar (made by Karo--light)
Black plum cobbler (with cinnamon and sugar on top of the homemade crust)
Banana puddin' made from scratch, layered with Nilla wafers

and her homemade stew...
I'm now in the mood for her comfort food since I am laid up with a dislocated patella on my right knee...
