Mariachis.... My house is a mariachi sandwich.. across the street they open all the windows and blast mariachi music.. just when i think it cannot get worse, the house across the street behind us starts in with dueling mariachis..(different station) :eyes:
Occasionally another neighbor gets out his PA system (Mr. Microphone?) and preaches the word..:( (after he's had some "tonic")..His wife usually scoops up his stuff and drags him inside...but the mariachis keep on keeping on :(

4. We lived next to a church in Santa Monica. |
|
In the morning, there was a quiet service - probably the Unitarian Jihadis. :)
In the afternoon, there was a rocking, wailing, SHRIEKING congregation that amplified their hysteria.
At some point every Sunday evening, my husband would yell out the window, "Okay, JUST DRINK THE KOOLAID ALREADY!"

gravel driveway that was about 3 feet from our bed..The only morning we could sleep in, and they had a 6 AM service:(..
But when our well broke, they graciously let us have a key to the church so we could get water from their kitchen until our well gor fixed ..We felt bad about complaining (to each other) about the gravel alarm clock:)

6. I hate to say it, but if I never again hear mariachi music and the boom |
|
boom cars, I won't miss it.
I am truly enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside and small town life here. I don't miss the poverty and the noise, the traffic, and the pollution of Los Angles, not one little bit.

are in some fashionable form of hell on earth? I would. I couldn't take it. I'd crack and push my 4x12 onto the porch and crank my amp and play my guitar (punk only) if all that was going on just to shut the rest up. And trust me, my amp can shatter windows if I turn it up too loud. I have personally caused the smoke alarm to go off when playing in a band years ago...Too bad we aren't neighbors. I could put a quick stop to those shenanigans. Afterwards though, I'd push my amp back in and semi-retire it for a headphone amp again. It might be unpleasant for a day or two, but the noise ordinance your city would have to create would be the talk of the town for years...
