Generally speaking though, as someone who rants from timte to time, stick to simple civility and manners, and you should be fine.

No personal attacks.
No inflammatory statements.
Debate the post, not the poster.
Keep it clean, when ranting the cheap words tend to be inflammatory.

But this is not a complete verson of what you will find in the posting rules.

When you say rant, do you mean rant about Bush (my favorite thing to do!) or rant about politics, or someone posting here?

Sometimes I get really upset about some thread and the way the discussion is going, but I never attack a person, even though they deserve it. I just jump out and find some other thread, and try to say something nice to someone, if I agree with them.

If you want to see a real dogfight, and what NOT to do, check out the 'Meeting Room'. Look under the astrology threads. You'll see lots of mudslinging in there. Not good.
