Remember when Vanilla Ice went bonkers on that MTV special
and scared the shit out of Garafalo, Stewart and some other VJ's. It would be cool if that happened on more TV shows.

1. I remember that
destroyed the set while destroying a tape of Ice Ice Baby...

I'd love to see him do that on The Wiggles

2. I miss the good ol' days of Truman Capote showing up shitfaced
on booze and painkillers everywhere.

And David Susskind's nervous breakdown.

And the classic where Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley Jr. were going at it on network coverage for the 1968 Dem Convention:

Vidal: "the only pro or crypto-Nazi here is yourself."

Buckley: "Now listen, you queer, you stop calling me a crypto-Nazi or I'll sock you in the goddamn face and you'll stay plastered."

6. That's the best clip of that I have seen.
Vidal talks about the episode in his memoir Palimpsest, I think (or maybe it was in something else he wrote that's anthologized in United States. You can barely hear it, but at one point Vidal says "What about Sharon?" to Buckley, referring to an incident in Sharon, CT during Buckley's youth when Buckley's sisters were arrested for anti-semitic vandalism.

Just a weird episode all around, but it fills me with delight to watch it.
