Faith No More - one of the greatest forgotten bands ever
Edited on Fri Aug-05-05 03:28 PM by Taverner
These guys were simply amazing - I think it was the shift from hard driving, angst ridden, methodless madness into lilting melodies with harmonies peppering the flavor...

For me, Angel Dust was one of the truly great albums of the 90's...

I started this
It’s all for me
What’s yours is mine and mine is mine
That’s plain to see
So give it up
I’ve got to have
I swalllow, I swalllow, I swalllow, I swalllow
Be aggressive
B-e aggressive
B-e-a-g-g-r-e-s-s-i-v-e
What someone else
Would leave behind
And spit it out, let go to waste
I claim as mine
You’re my flavour of the week
I swalllow, I swalllow, I swalllow, I swalllow
Tall and reckless
Ugly seed
Reach down my throat
You filthy bird
That’s all I need
The empty pit
I’ve got to feed
To prove I’m fit
A healthy man
I’ve got to be
Malnutrition, my submission
You’re the master and I take it on my knees
Ejaculation
Tribulation
I swalllow, I swalllow, I swalllow, I swalllow
Be aggressive
B-e aggressive
B-e-a-g-g-r-e-s-s-i-v-e
Go, fight, go, fight, go, fight, go, fight, win

1. My vote is for Tad
Edited on Fri Aug-05-05 03:28 PM by youspeakmylanguage
Tad Doyle was THE unsung hero of the Seattle grunge era. His band "Tad" released some incredible punk albums on Sub-Pop. Alas, their major record deal seemed to kill of the band.

A friend of mine knows him, but I've never met him. She always claims he's never around when we come to visit. I think she's just lost his phone number.

He's even featured under the grunge section of Seattle's EMP museum.

Ah, I love Seattle. I wish I was there now...

2. As much as I loved grunge
And I did love TAD as well as 90% of the Sub Pop catalogue...

Faith No More was beyond grunge...beyond metal...they were ribald pioneers in a land untouched by musical hands.

9. I understand how you can love and admire a band so much...
...with me it's Morphine. I worshipped that group and some pivotal, significant events in my life revolve around that band's music.

I've gotten to know the surviving members when they tour with their new group Twinemen (http://www.twinemen.com). I know them fairly well now and we talk before and after shows, though I have to be careful not to turn into crazy stalker fan.

12. I only saw them live one time...
...and it's a blur now. It was an unbelievable experience.

Seeing Twinemen is much different - MUCH more relaxed.
