gotta travel for work on Monday. Blah. But I suppose if we did it early in the day I could manage to get by without the booze part.

Tomorrow. Sunday. Whenever. We'll figure it out.

5. Figs grow on bushes?
I always thought they grew on trees. What kind of weather do you need to grow them? I've always been a huge fig newton fan.

6. It's a little tree.
I just planted it last fall. That's the first fig.

I believe figs like the heat. This particular variety is the White Texas Everbearing.

18. It's maybe two feet tall right now.
It has grown about 6-8 inches this year. When I planted it, it was a stick with a couple of leaves on it.

And I LOVE fig preserves. I go to the Middle Eastern market here to get some. The stuff they make looks like black tar heroin and is yummy.

Oh, the variety is White Texas Everbearing.

38. That's funny...
my cousin from Port Arthur just gave me a cutting. It started out about six inches tall, with maybe three leaves. It's up to two feet now, and loaded with leaves. I'm waiting until the fall to plant it.

Can't wait until it's a REAL tree!

Yeah, I make thick, dark fig preserves. Best thing in the world is homemade, crusty biscuits with figs. Delish!

It's doing ok, all things considered.

Man, I'm getting hungry. I might have to visit the Middle Eastern Market tomorrow. Of course that means I'll have to get some baklava! :D

And ask you for that recipe? Please?

I have a fig tree that was simply bounteous this year. I've been hoping to find a recipe so that I could enjoy the harvest longer next year.

Thank you!

34. Which one was the butterfly bush?
There were some casualties of all those days with no rain.

The greg's blue mist out front is getting tall. Maybe 2 feet now and spreading out.

The one castor bean plant is taller than the fence.

46. I've actually got actual grass growing over most of my yard.
Thankfully it finally rained, so the grass and weeds are green again. Of course that just means I have to cut it more often.

I'd love to go full xeriscape here, there's no HOA to give me crap.
