I JUST got one of the more subtle "Shaun Of The Dead" jokes...

I've probably watched "Shaun Of The Dead" AT LEAST 20 times, and I JUST GOT one of the jokes that previously flew right past me.

Sean is on the phone with his mother and asks if she's OK. She says that his stepdad has been bitten. Ed yells into the phone

"WE'RE COMING TO GET YOU BARBARA!"



...in "Night Of The Living Dead," near the beginning, the brother and sister are visiting the cemetery, spot a zombie, and the brother "Johnny" says in his best Boris Karloff voice:

"THEY'RE COMING TO GET YOU, BARBARA!"

Gotta tell you, folks...if you haven't seen "Shaun Of The Dead," the terra-ists have TRULY won.

6. I saw it, and I own the spiffy "Anniversary Edition" on DVD, but...

...even though the "They're coming to GET you, Barbara" line is PERHAPS the most FAMOUS line in the film, and I know it well, it was so subtly inserted into S.O.T.D. that I missed it.
