Fire at IChing's Place
The person next door at my condo set torch to his place on August 3rd at around one in the morning and then left. I awoke, I don't sleep well with my arthritis, at about 2:15, smelling something in the air, I went outside to trace down the smell and a neighbor came out the same time and saw smoke coming out of the place next to mine. We called the fire department and started knocking on doors to awaken the building I was in. The fire in the place was starting to be visible in his place. The fireman came about 2:45 and one came in and helped me move my mattress out and covered my other computer with a tarp. They fought the fire until 7 in the morning.
My bedroom was destroyed and my house suffered major smoke damage. Presently I am sleeping on the couch at my neighbor's place with my dog. I had to go out and buy
clothing since everything smelled like smoke. The repairs will take from 3-4 months so I must find a place to live.
The person that set the fire was obviously disturbed. His father was a cop, and his brother was a cop. The parents bought him the condo last year, after he was arrested for meth and released. (I did not know that until now) Luckily, he placed his propane tank outside before he torched the place. They caught him the next day and is under $250,000 bail. I am still shook up but am well. The pictures I took at the fire has one with the message he left on the door before he left that night. You can see the picture I took of my wall in my bedroom before I left it that night. My place is very quiet and in a good neighborhood.
The person I stay with has dial-up and two great teenagers. So my posting will be far a few between. I just thought I would post this personal matter to my Democratic
community. If anyone responds to this I can not answer quickly because of my situation

7. I am so sorry, IChing
when I clicked on this I thought you lived in Bellevue, WA because a disturbed fellow did the same thing, burned his place down and seriously damaged the neighbour's. I guess there's a lot of that going around :(

I am very glad you got out alright and I hope your insurance co is good to you.

Good Luck! :hi:

Spectacular pics, BTW

9. So sorry for your losses, so glad you came through all right personally
Much as I know you hate arthritis, sounds like it saved your life this time.

All sympathies, and good luck on getting the fastest settlement and repair job possible.

14. Oh my dear IChing!
How horrifying for you...I'm extremely grateful that you and your dog were able to get out in time...

Things can be replaced...though it costs...

But people can't be, nor pets...I'm grateful to the powers that be that you are OK...

Post when you can...

You both are in my thoughts...
