6. Doing the backstroke on the living room floor? |
|
Yep. Call your vet and make the arrangements. She'll drive you insane if you don't. She's old enough and should weigh enough, which the vet will determine.
Good luck! :hi:

9. oh hell yeah that is heat for sure...i know all about cat's in heat |
|
but I don't feel like getting into that story tonight. like everybody else says, get the cat fixed or else you will go completely insane. I have seen our cat hump my sisters foot howling loudly when she was in heat while my sis was talking on the phone. the person calling my sister was like "what the hell is that." so, Yeah,I have been there. for your, and everybody elses sanity, get the kitty fixed soonest.

8. yes, you can fix her even when she's in estrus.... |
|
She'll just stay that way until you do, so there's no point in waiting.

You need to wait to spay her til it's over.
When I was in high school our cat went into heat. My mother was thrilled! Our cat was so affectionate! How cute!
I finally asked her if she was that naive. "About what?" she asked. "Ever heard the phrase French whorehouse on payday? Cause you're looking at it!" I replied.Right after our cat had her litter and could get spayed, she was.

14. Hold on...if she IS in heat, you need to tell the vet that's going to spay |
|
her. When in heat, oftentimes, a vet won't do the surgery. It's more difficult, and there's a huge tendency for bleeding. Bad bleeding. If your vet suggests waiting until the end of her cycle, do so. But then get her fixed immediately.

She can be fixed while in heat, but it costs more because the procedure is more difficult. Scribbles went into heat the day she was scheduled to go, but we've found a vet with really cheap prices....$35 to spay...they only tacked on an extra $10.
