Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 11:07 PM by Cathyclysmic
has anyone seen this movie?...I really liked it. I didn't know a two hour movie about quantum physics could be so interesting....especailly the techno-polka dance at the wedding to help explain the chemistry behind addictions..who comes up with this stuff?

1. For my pastor ...
it's required viewing.

I'm with Church of Religious Science ( www.rsintl.org ).

She's teaching a class with it this summer.

We're panentheists, believing that Spirit is both within and without; we are each equally divine and a segment of Spirit. We are connected; we believe in all paths.

2. I loved it!
A few parts got a bit hokey, but overall, I found it exciting and wonderful!

But then, I studied quantum mechanics AND theology, so there you go. It was right up my alley!

4.  I just looked at the website for the movie

and I think it needs to focus more on the science part of the movie for balance.

5. Yeah, that would have helped.
I don't know that the woman who channeled that old space being or whatever the fuck it was, I'm not sure if she was necessary.

But, I just ignore the new agey idiot stuff.

The kid with the basketball - those are the best parts!

8. The wedding part, again, cracked me up
and really was a good Psych 101 refresher.

3. Here is what salon.com had to say about
What the Bleep....

http://archive.salon.com/ent/feature/2004/09/16/bleep/

"Bleep" of faith
An indie film gets buzz and a big rollout. But "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" uses questionable on-screen experts -- and appears to be an infomercial for a controversial New Age sect.

snip

That has meant little attention has been given to either the film's agenda, or its questionable use of supposed experts. At least one scientist prominently interviewed in the film now says his words were taken out of context. And two other key subjects in the film are not fully identified: a theologian who, the film fails to divulge, is a former priest who left the Catholic Church after allegations of sexual abuse; and a mysterious woman identified only as Judy "JZ" Knight, who is actually a sect leader claiming to channel a 35,000-year-old warrior spirit named Ramtha. The film's three co-directors are among those who follow Ramtha and look to Knight's channeled maxims to decipher the mysteries of life. These Ramtha followers reportedly number in the thousands. But critics call the sect a cult.

6. Doesn't surprise me. I'm wary of anyone who says they are
channeling some old fucking spirit.

7. We were wondering about that ....
The entire movie they would show scientists making valid points and then switch over to this lady ....and let me paraphrase what I said eariler....for being so concerned about physics and life and science, she sure has had alot of botox.

Out of all of them , I think the priest and the guy who looked like George Carlin's cousin made the most interesting points.

10. My biggest shock in that movie was that JZ Knight (Ramtha) ...
...made what I thought were the most compelling statements. I was floored at the end, finding out that's who it was...!

Cool, but I tried to frame my reality so I'd wake up with a Kerry presidential win, but so far it hasn't worked and I'm stuck in this stupid one with the a-hole in the WH.

11. this is a great movie!! very very very clever.
it's one i'm going to have to buy, because seeing it just once is not enough. i barely got the message, never mind all the little parts to back it up, it was so fast paced.

12. luckily, we watched it at home
